The role
We are looking for an experienced People Director to play a key role in the delivery and evolution of the People agenda for our Contract Logistics business across the UK & Ireland.

Reporting to the Senior People Director – UK & Ireland, you will partner closely with senior Contract Logistics leaders across a complex, fast-paced and growing business, while connecting with the wider regional and global People organisation.

You will lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners and Assistant HR Business Partners, building greater consistency, capability and discipline across our People operating model, processes and ways of working.

A significant focus of the role will be commercial business partnering. You will develop a strong understanding of our operations, customers, workforce and commercial drivers and use people, operational and commercial data to provide insight, challenge and recommendations that support better business decisions.

You will also play an active role in our growth agenda, bids and mobilisations, working alongside Commercial, Operations and Finance to ensure robust and commercially informed People input. This will include workforce models, organisational structures, labour assumptions, people costs, employee relations considerations, TUPE implications and mobilisation requirements.

As the business continues to evolve, you will lead and contribute to significant organisational change and strategic projects across the UK & Ireland, regional and global organisation. You will help strengthen workforce planning, organisational capability and the consistency of our People approach while ensuring the requirements of the Contract Logistics business are represented within wider People initiatives.

This is a role for someone who can operate comfortably at both a strategic and operational level — influencing senior leaders, developing People capability and translating business challenges into practical, commercially focused solutions.

So, who are we looking for?

Key skills and experience include:

  • Significant senior-level HR Business Partnering experience within a complex, operational and commercially focused environment; experience within logistics, supply chain, manufacturing or an industrial environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to connect People decisions to operational and financial outcomes.
  • Proven experience partnering with and influencing senior business leaders.
  • Experience leading and developing HR Business Partners and/or broader People teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using workforce and business data to generate insight and inform decision-making.
  • Proven project and change management experience, with the ability to lead multiple complex initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and TUPE. Knowledge or practical experience of Irish employment legislation would be advantageous.
  • Strong Employee Relations and Industrial Relations experience; experience working with unions and/or works councils would be beneficial.
  • Experience contributing to commercial bids, business growth or mobilisations would be highly desirable.
  • Experience working within regional and/or global matrix environments and contributing to cross-border projects.
  • The confidence and judgement to influence, constructively challenge and make recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel across our Contract Logistics locations weekly and as required for regional and global activity.

If you are a commercially minded People leader who enjoys working close to the business, developing high-performing teams and helping organisations grow and evolve, we would like to hear from you.
