Purpose:

The People & Culture Advisor will provide an efficient and effective HR service, delivering operational transactional support to the People Team and managers through the provision of advice, guidance and support, including advising and coaching line managers on the interpretation of policy and legislation in the context of their responsibilities when managing their staff, as well as assisting with a variety of challenging, generalist HR work aimed at supporting the business to achieve effective organisational performance through their people.

Key responsibilities:

  • To assist the People & Culture Manager and People & Culture Director with delivering a proactive professional HR service across the business.

  • Working closely with the People team you will support with undertaking the variety of daily HR administrative duties and create and follow processes.

  • Provide a professional advisory service that gives effective solutions to people issues ensuring a balance between individuals and business need.

  • You will support with Employee Wellbeing, TUPE, Change management, and assist with the coordination and implementation of new processes and practices.

  • To lead on ER cases, including performance, absence, investigations and probationary reviews, and be first point of contact for informal processes.

  • To understand ER policies & procedures, and update policies and reviews based on changing legislature and best practice

  • Collaborating with other members in the team, you will support on creating reports for management information and analytics purposes.

  • Working in partnership with the People & Culture Manager and the wider People & Culture Team to help resolve or advise upon initial HR queries and to escalate any complex issues as necessary.

  • To assist with presentational material.

  • To support the People & Culture Manager and People & Culture Director on complex casework.

  • To assist with the creation of management reports (e.g., absence, salary reviews, training etc.)

  • Coach and develop line managers within people processes and ER

  • Remain up-to-date and knowledgeable on UK Employment Legislation

  • Where appropriate, to support in managing HR projects. Proficient in Excel and confident in inputting and cross-checking data accurately onto different records/systems

Education and Training:

  • Experience in a similar role

  • Have a minimum of CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience

  • Experience with HR systems. Some knowledge or experience of leading and managing low level ER cases would be preferable.
