About the Team
The role of People Business Partner reports directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and sits on the People Leadership team. The team operates in a dynamic and innovative environment where collaboration is the norm and development opportunities are abundant.
The People team is key to the company’s mission to be the best company to work for and to work with, carrying the responsibility to partner with the business in undertaking people plans that drive us towards this mission.
About Your Role
As a People Business Partner, you will support the alignment of business objectives with financial and operational goals. This role requires an understanding of business operations, financial acumen, and the ability to drive change across the organisation.
You will focus on organisational health and effectiveness within the newly formed business areas, with a priority on the Finance community and their strategy as a critical success factor for the organisation in FY26.
This role requires a strategic mindset, operational excellence, and a proactive, solution-focused approach. You will support key people initiatives across organisational health, end-to-end organisational design, talent management, and change management using data and insights, ultimately contributing to sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
What you will be working on
You will mostly work independently, providing challenge to executive roles to deliver people business partnering in a new way for PXC. Key to this role is establishing a new way of working for the business with the People team, ruthless prioritisation, and empowering People leaders to lead on activities traditionally managed by the People team. You will help create a positive, dynamic, and forward-thinking company culture that supports the organisation's strategic objectives and fosters employee engagement and satisfaction.
Business Influence:
- Partner with aligned employee population and contribute to the company’s mission to be the best company to work for.
- Develop and implement a localised people strategy and plan that is data-driven and aligned with the company's overall objectives and goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner, including senior management.
Organisational Health:
- Collaborate with business leaders to shape the organisation by reshaping teams and redesigning roles for optimal effectiveness.
- Drive continuous operational excellence by providing the necessary tools, processes, and training (toolset, mindset, and skillset) for leadership.
- Lead people-related change initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new structures, cultures, behaviours, processes, and systems.
Talent Management:
- Partnering with the business on workforce planning to understand industry/business roadmaps to identify future skills and roles needed.
- Define business area-specific talent management requirements with leadership teams and partner with L&D to analyse skills gaps and address capability development needs.
- Promote Employee Value Propositions (EVPs) consistently through business rhythms.
Data & Insights:
- Work with Data & Insights to drive data-driven people plans.
- Assist in financial planning and budgeting to support decision-making processes for the aligned business area.
- Approve people-related decisions at aligned DOAG levels
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
What will make you successful in the role?
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in an HR/People partnering role, leading on end-to-end organisational design, talent management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to operate both strategically and operationally, with a track record of delivering results independently.
- Uses data and analytics to inform decisions, measure impact, and identify trends.
- Experience partnering with executive leadership.
- Understanding of professional and industry best practices.
- Capability in leading change management, including TUPE, organisational design, and M&A.
- Application of employee relations in employment history to appreciate the impact of people plans on the employee journey.
- Influencing skills applied at executive/senior levels.
- End-to-end ownership of talent management cycles, including but not limited to performance management, talent review, skills mapping, and workforce planning.
