Team Overview

The People, Culture & Impact team’s mission is to deliver a mission-driven experience that empowers the People of Depop (PoD) to do their best work. As Depop continues its path to profitability and executes on its growth strategy, the P, C & I team is shaping a people strategy which will underpin this growth. The strategy (and the operations that underpin it) will ensure that Depop can grow scalably by building a culture of high performance and excellence, evolving organisational effectiveness and efficiency, and providing meaningful growth for our people. Role Overview


Join our team as a People Analyst, a dynamic role dedicated to managing and analysing data across the People, Culture, and Impact function at Depop. This includes metrics related to HR, People Operations, Talent, and DEI. Reporting to the Senior Manager, People Experience, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of HR analytics within our organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering teams to deliver the integration of our HR system Workday and our BI platform Looker, including building and maintaining Looker or dbt models

  • Develop and maintain dashboards in Looker to deliver consistent and ad-hoc HR and Talent metrics and insights.

  • Identify, analyse, and interpret data trends or patterns, and customise reports and dashboards to share with leaders, supporting them in turning insights into actionable strategies.

  • Translate data analysis and insights into the most appropriate visualisations for different audiences, ensuring high-quality output.

  • Support and audit datasets from the ATS, HRIS, third-party analytics vendors, and other data sources as needed.

  • Partner with and support different teams across the People, Culture & Impact department, including Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and DEI.

  • Develop routine reporting & presentation templates to inform People Leadership and stakeholders across the business.

  • Collaborate with the People team on broader people initiatives and projects, and provide additional support as needed.

Requirements

  • HR and TA Reporting and Analytics Experience: Familiar with HR and TA reporting analytics and data management principles. Passionate about working with and analysing people data.

  • Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with large datasets; ideally also directly familiar with LookML 

  • Hands-on experience with owning and building data models in visualisation tools like Looker or Tableau, ideally also with a dbt layer or similar stack

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and other analysts, to deliver data integration projects

  • Reporting Tools: Proficient in manipulating, storing, and reporting data via Excel/Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, and logical functions.

  • Data Integrity and Confidentiality: Skilled in handling confidential employee data with integrity and knowledgeable in data privacy best practices.

  • Team Collaboration: Capable of working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong collaborative skills.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

  • Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.

  • Enthusiasm and Initiative: Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of initiative and enthusiasm for learning.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS/ATS system, and an understanding of how to build reports and extract data.
