We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Payroll Manager to support our global payroll function. Reporting directly to the Global Payroll Director, this role will own the end-to-end operational efficiency, accuracy and compliance of the payroll process for specific geographies, with a small team reporting into you. The ideal candidate will have some management experience already, be a proven team player, have good technical payroll knowledge [in some or all of the geographies], have experience working with global payroll platforms, with experience with NetSuite and HiBob an advantage.  

This team will be responsible for the delivery of a payroll transformation project, and as such, experience in executing the transition from fragmented payroll providers to a global payroll platform will be beneficial. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    1. Leadership & Payroll Administration
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team responsible for Europe and ensuring delivery of accurate and timely payroll for those countries.

  • Process Transformation and improvement: Taking a key role in the execution of the transition of payroll delivery from a group of suppliers, to a single global payroll platform. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all the compliance, legal, operational and timing needs for the assigned geographies can be tracked and met.

  • Policy & Procedure: Participate in the process of ensuring a group of comprehensive payroll policies and standard operating procedures to maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with company policies and local statutory requirements.

  • 2. Core Payroll Operations
  • Global Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely payroll execution across all regions, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements, while maintaining full compliance with local tax and labor regulations.

  • Payroll Compliance & Controls: Oversee statutory filings, tax payments, social security contributions, and year-end reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to local laws and audit standards.

  • Payroll Accounting & Reconciliations: Ensure payroll-related account reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a timely basis, and assist in payroll accounting matters including funding, accruals, and relevant Journal Entries.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with internal and external payroll vendors and stakeholders, including third party providers, and internal teams including HR, Finance, Legal, and People teams to ensure accurate data flow and alignment on employee lifecycle changes.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for employee payroll inquiries for your geographies, resolving complex issues quickly and confidentially.

  • Assist in information preparation and enquiries for internal and third party audits.

  • Drive continuous improvement in accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and operational efficiency.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll, including at least 1 year of management experience.

  • High-Growth Experience: Prior experience in a high-growth FinTech or technology environment is highly desirable.

  • System Proficiency: Demonstrable expertise and hands-on experience with at least one global payroll platform and with HiBob. Experience with Concur and Netsuite is advantageous.

  • Compliance and risk management mindset: A good eye for detail and an ability to ensure that processes are followed properly, with good quality reconciliation skills are essential.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and scale operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
