We are looking for a Patent Professional to help identify, protect, and maximize the value of Ericsson's innovations and technology. In this role, you will work closely with inventors, engineers, R&D teams, and external partners to develop and manage high-quality patent assets aligned with business and technology strategies.
You will be responsible for evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, supporting portfolio development, and contributing to licensing and patent-related activities. In addition, you will play a key role in Ericsson's Patent Attorney Trainee Program by coaching and mentoring trainee patent attorneys throughout their professional development journey.
What you will do:- Identify, assess, and develop patentable inventions in collaboration with inventors and technical teams.- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications across multiple jurisdictions.- Manage patent portfolios and maintain patent docket activities.- Support portfolio analysis, claim charting, and patent quality initiatives.- Contribute to opposition, invalidation, and patent assertion activities.- Provide support in licensing, negotiations, and patent-related legal matters.- Use patent management and monitoring tools to track activities, ensure compliance, and identify process improvements.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and R&D leadership.- Coach and mentor trainee patent attorneys, supporting their development and preparation for qualification exams.
The skills you bring:- A Master's or PhD degree in a relevant technical field, such as Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Applied Physics, Computer Science, ICT, or a related discipline.- Qualification as a European Patent Attorney.- Strong knowledge of patent prosecution processes and intellectual property management.-Understanding of relevant patent laws, regulations, and practices across jurisdictions.- Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in complex technology areas.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.- Coaching and mentoring experience, with the ability to support the development of others.- A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive knowledge sharing and best practices.
