Department Overview

Role Description 

The Negotiator, Partnerships role at Initiative is responsible for negotiating, placing and maintaining National campaigns on behalf of our clients. Negotiators must work collaboratively with other disciplines such as Strategy, Communications Design, and Client Advice and Management. A Negotiator, Partnerships will always exhibit a collaborative and fair demeanor with media partners to honor the Initiative culture and service commitments we declare in the marketplace. 

Key Responsibilities

Client

  • Responsiveness to client requests including reports, preparing schedules, buy highlights
  • Assist in preparing deck slides for client buy presentations

Internal

  • Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration + communicate effectively
  • Manage the workloads and reports prepared by them
  • Place, confirm, and monitor media holds/orders
  • Execute smooth day-to-day account activities:
    • Enter buys into Prisma and ensure system reflects accurate buys + reconciliation
    • Monitor network buys daily based on audience delivery data to ensure delivery in flight
    • Assist with traffic issues
  • Assist in preparing post buy documents
  • Oversee discrepancy resolution
  • Attend media owner meetings

Commercial

  • Develop and maintain media partner relationships
  • Negotiate pricing that reflects efficiencies, clients objectives + drive value and quality
  • Ensure understanding of MAGNA priority networks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving ability and a can-do self-motivated mindset
  • Able to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Math proficiency
