About the role
The role of the Paralegal is primarily to assist in taking instructions for legal matters, as well as supporting in drafting the relevant documents, preparing for cases and conducting legal research.
Key responsibilities
- Support preparation and drafting of legal documents.
- Attend client meetings with the Solicitor, taking meetings and noting relevant actions.
- Liaise with clients to provide support for any questions they may have or to follow up on any outstanding matters.
- Produce written correspondence to clients and third parties.
- Proofreading of legal documentation to ensure these are produced to a high standard.
- Assist in the preparation of case files, bundles and court documents where required.
- Reviewing documentation upon receipt for correct execution.
- Deal with any registration requirements.
- Conduct legal research and summarise findings.
- Support with the onboarding of clients, both internal and external.
- Maintain, update and support the development of our case management system.
- Ensure support of OLA/SLA targets throughout the workflow process.

- The production of well-organised, high-quality and error-free legal documentation/research summaries
- The maintenance of accurate records and document management
- The provision of effective support for fee earners with positive and productive working relationships
Our ideal person
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a legal environment, ideally in a supportive capacity or equivalent academic knowledge.
- Committed to excellent client care and an enthusiasm for legal work.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly with experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident in liaising with clients directly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable with identifying and solving problems, complaints, and risks.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive.

- Educated to degree level
