The role.
This role will be instrumental to assisting the Legal Team in growing and running an efficient and comprehensive legal function for the company. Working closely with Junior and Senior Legal Counsels to provide best-in-class support to the business, this role will have huge impact, and potentially be global in scope.
Day to day responsibilities.
- Working with the Legal Team to provide support to the business on a variety of legal issues to include corporate, intellectual property, consumer, financial services and other commercial matters.
- Assisting with the review, drafting, negotiating, advising on and execution of a wide range of commercial contracts, including NDAs and statements of work, and other legal documents.
- Managing legal operations to help establish, evaluate and improve processes.
- Organising and managing legal matters and supporting the Procurement Team with managing and keeping our contracts database up to date.
- Assistance with general administrative duties when required, including company secretarial matters.
- Occasionally supporting and liaising with the Privacy and Compliance Team where matters overlap with the Legal Team.
We’re looking for...
- Law degree or if you are a non-law degree graduate, you have started studying towards the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE)
- Candidates who have passed their Legal Practice Course (LPC), SQE or who have work experience as a paralegal, and/or who have an appetite to qualify as a solicitor practising in England and Wales is a bonus
- Passion for the law and learning - you have a genuine interest in the law and a curiosity to learn and apply what you have learnt in what you do
- Outstanding communication skills - you make the complex simple, concise and digestible
- Meticulous attention to detail, but you have a bias to action and get stuff done
- Ability to operate independently and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment by managing multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
- Can-do, problem-solving attitude - presenting solutions and ideas for improvement is just as important as identifying the risk
