What You’ll Do  

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to payment industry compliance, data privacy, and consumer protection laws - all crucial aspects of Modulr's operations. 
  • Assist in, reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, including those directly linked to our core services like merchant agreements, processing agreements, and vendor contracts. 
  • Execute BAU privacy compliance processes, including end-to-end management of DSRs, reviewing and advising on DPIAs and maintaining and updating associated documentation. 
  • Manage commercial litigation with support from in-house and external counsel, securing and reporting on progress against defined budgets and objectives 
  • Identify and drive process improvements, taking the lead on projects through to implementation. 
  • Use, enhance and develop AI supported workflows for recurring tasks. 
  • Work in a highly dynamic environment, focusing on execution and ensuring plans come to fruition. 
  • Consistently build strong relationships with stakeholders 

 

Who You Are 

What you’ll need  

  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in legal studies, Law, or a related field - Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience 
  • minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal, privacy or regulatory compliance professional, preferably in a technology or financial services setting. 
  • Proficiency in data privacy laws, such as GDPR  
  • Excellent organisational, research and analytical skills 

 

Nice to haves  

  • Experience in the payments industry, similar to Modulr's core operations 
  • Familiarity with payment processing systems and platforms 
  • Knowledge of international payment regulations, considering Modulr's wide operational landscape 
  • Familiarity with safe use of AI in sensitive processes
