Summary of the role:
We’re looking for an exceptional Search & Content Manager to elevate YouGov’s visibility across traditional search engines and the fast-changing world of AI-powered search. This is a rare opportunity to combine expert content creation with modern SEO and help define how global audiences discover and understand YouGov’s insights.
In this role, you will lead organic performance for our B2B products and content while providing light strategic support for selected B2C initiatives. You’ll sit at the intersection of search, content strategy and AI search optimisation—playing a key role in how YouGov appears not only in Google and Bing, but also within emerging search experiences such as ChatGPT, Claude and other next-generation LLM systems.
This position is less technically focused than a classic SEO manager role and is ideal for someone who is both a strategic thinker and a strong writer with a passion for search, content, and how people find information today.
What you’ll do (the important stuff)Search & Content Ownership- Own and implement a global organic search strategy across Google, Bing and LLM-driven search platforms, with a strong focus on B2B content.
- Lead content planning and creation that improves search visibility and inclusion in AI-generated answers.
- Write clear, compelling and search-optimised content about YouGov’s B2B products, data solutions and industry insights.
- Produce and optimise B2C content where needed (e.g., polls, rankings, topical stories), ensuring it follows best practice and aligns with search opportunities.
- Optimise existing B2B content and create new, high-performing copy rooted in keyword research, topical authority and user intent.
- Understand how LLM retrieval and summarisation work, adapting content structure, markup and language to maximise visibility in AI search results.
- Provide strategic oversight for B2C search projects, ensuring consistency across teams.
- Analyse organic performance using SEO platforms, LLM monitoring tools and YouGov’s proprietary data to uncover opportunities and measure impact.
- Work with Analytics to build reporting frameworks that showcase performance, insights and areas for future investment.
- Collaborate with Editorial, Product Marketing, PR, Social and Acquisition teams to ensure all content is aligned, high-quality and optimised for both human and AI search behaviour.
- Stay ahead of search and AI trends and turn developments into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrable SEO expertise with a track record of improving rankings, organic visibility or content performance.
- Strong copywriting skills and experience creating high-quality, search-optimised content (essential).
- Curiosity about AI search and how LLMs retrieve, rank and summarise information.
- A strong analytical mindset and hands-on experience using SEO tools to derive insights and guide strategy.
