Optical Assistant Vacancy - 3 Days - Aves Opticians and Hearing Care, Epping

At Aves Opticians, part of the Hakim Group, we combine independent, patient-first care with the backing of a modern, supportive network. Located in the heart of Epping, our newly refurbishing practice is looking for a warm, organised Part-time Optical Assistant to keep our front-of-house and administrative operations.


While your primary focus is keeping the practice running smoothly behind the scenes and greeting patients, you’ll also get hands-on training to perform pre-screening tests and occasionally support our main dispensing team during peak clinic times.

About the Role

What You'll Do

  • Front-of-House & Admin: Welcome patients, handle phone queries, schedule appointments, and manage daily practice administration with exceptional care and efficiency.

  • Patient Pre-Screening: Conduct preliminary diagnostic imaging and automated tests to prepare patients for their eye exams.

  • Frame Repairs & Adjustments: Carry out minor frame tweaks, fits, and repairs to keep patient eyewear comfortable.

  • Occasional Dispensing Support: Provide occasional support to the main dispensing team once fully trained during busy clinic periods.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous administrative, reception, or customer-facing experience (optical background is ideal, but not essential).

  • Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and a welcoming, approachable manner.

  • Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays.

  • Prior reception or customer-facing experience is preferred, though optical experience is not required
  • Our frame selection includes Tom Ford, Face-a-Face, Ørgreen, Moscot, Maui Jim.

  • The role requires you to work Saturdays
