Job Description

We’re looking for an Operational Lead for our South Ockendon site; the primary purpose of this role is to optimise Productivity, Quality and Service at the service centre whilst ensuring we maintain a Zero Harm culture at the site. The role will report into the Plant Manager and be responsible for a team of c100 staff and oversee over 200 vehicle movements a day.

Key responsibilities
 

  • Effective leadership and accountability to ensure full compliance to Safety Health Environment policies and procedures.
  • Establish a culture where the entire organisation owns safety and aspires for Zero Harm.
  • Ensure full compliance to Quality process and procedures.
  • Maintain and exceed in customer service levels (OTIF)
  • Maintain stock levels and accurate reporting of stock with a regular audit cycle
  • Ensure the production process achieves plan and deliver effective strategies to increase volume and decrease unit cost/pallet.
  • Develop the team to create a high performing autonomous team
  • Drive Employee engagement through total employee involvement and focus on employee wellbeing. Deliver pulse survey results (Glint)
  • Lead a strong program of training and development for employees             

What you’ll need;

  • Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean manufacturing techniques & implementation
  • Use of Analytics to modify and set KPI’s
  • Systems (SAP (Systems, Applications & Products), Microsoft Office)
  • Experience of leading Zero Harm including learning teams and investigations.
  • Experience within a fast-paced production & distribution operation
  • Experience of delivering a high performance team.
  • Planning processes
