As our next Operations Associate (Checkatrade Express), you’ll play a key role in helping us build the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace. You’ll be part of the team behind Checkatrade Express, a faster, simpler way for customers to book common jobs around the home. Instead of comparing quotes, customers see fixed prices upfront, pay directly through the platform, and we match them with the right tradesperson.

We launched Express in mid-2025 and brought it to market later that year. Since then, it’s grown rapidly, expanding nationwide and offering 100+ services to thousands of customers.

The product is still early in its journey. It’s run by a small, ambitious and entrepreneurial team with big targets, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help shape what the future of home services looks like.

Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

  • Building the foundations of our trade supply. You’ll help create the frameworks that keep our trade network growing as customer demand increases.

  • Rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in. You’ll tackle a wide range of challenges in a fast-moving team where priorities evolve quickly.

  • Working across strategy, product and data to test ideas, launch new features and solve meaningful problems.

  • Partnering closely with product managers, engineers and operators to turn ideas into live products that make a real impact.

It’s not about ticking every box. It’s about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • A recent university qualification or early-career experience. Backgrounds in consulting, tech, or startups are helpful but not essential.

  • Strong critical thinking and a genuine interest in solving complex problems.

  • Comfortable working with data. Excel is required, and experience with BI tools is a plus.

  • An AI-curious mindset. You’re interested in using automation and AI tools to work faster and have more impact.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s just a taste:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus

  • Employee Share Program

  • Health, well-being and learning support (including access to leadership programmes and mentorship)

  • Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme

  • Birthday/Special day leave

  • Buy & sell holiday scheme

  • 1 week’s paid charity leave and much more!

How we’ll get to know each other:

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners

  • 1st stage interview with our General Manager, Express

  • 2nd Stage interview includes a case study interview with key stakeholders

  • Final stage interview includes a cross-functional interview with the above

If this sounds like the place where you can do your best work, we’d love to hear from you, even if you don’t tick every box
