As our next Operations AI Associate, you’ll play a key role in helping us build the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace. You’ll be part of the team behind Checkatrade Express, a faster, simpler way for customers to book common jobs around the home. Instead of comparing quotes, customers see fixed prices upfront, pay directly through the platform, and we match them with the right tradesperson.

We launched Express in mid-2025 and brought it to market later that year. Since then, it’s grown rapidly, expanding nationwide and offering 100+ services to thousands of customers.

The product is still early in its journey. It’s run by a small, ambitious and entrepreneurial team with big targets, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help shape what the future of home services looks like.

Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

  • Building supply health, and acquisition frameworks from the ground up to ensure our trade network keeps up with skyrocketing demand.

  • Rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into a wide variety of challenges in a scrappy team where no two days are the same.

  • Sitting at the centre of strategy, product, and data to shape new ideas, drive launches, solve meaningful problems, and push projects over the line.

  • Working side-by-side with product managers, engineers, and operators to turn concepts into live products that make a real impact.

It’s not about ticking every box. It’s about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional, preferably with experience in consulting, tech, or startups (not essential)

  • Exceptional critical thinking and a love for tackling complex challenges with smart, well-reasoned solutions.

  • Comfort working with data (Excel required, BI tools a bonus) to ask smart questions and spot patterns that help the team focus on what matters.

  • An AI-powered mindset, using automation and AI agents to scale your personal output and multiply your impact.

  • Clear communication skills and an eagerness to learn and adapt in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities shift rapidly.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s just a taste:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus

  • Employee Share Program

  • Health, well-being and learning support (including access to leadership programmes and mentorship)

  • Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme

  • Birthday/Special day leave

  • Buy & sell holiday scheme

  • 1 week’s paid charity leave and much more!

How we’ll get to know each other:

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners

  • 1st stage interview with our General Manager, Express

  • 2nd Stage interview includes a case study presentation with key stakeholders

  • Final stage includes a cross-functional interview with the above

If this sounds like the place where you can do your best work, we’d love to hear from you, even if you don’t tick every box

What you need to know about the London Tech Scene

London isn't just a hub for established businesses; it's also a nursery for innovation. Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
