Operations Associate (Bookings Team)

As our next Operations Associate (Bookings Team), you’ll play a key role in helping us build the UK’s go-to home improvement marketplace.

You’ll be part of the Bookings team which is a team focused on transforming Checkatrade from a lead generation platform into a true end-to-end bookings and transactions marketplace, where customers can seamlessly book, manage and pay for services directly through Checkatrade.
We’ve built and shipped multiple products, including Checkatrade Express and Checkatrade for Business which are early-stage products that are already powering real bookings and helping us move towards this vision.

Forget long lists, here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:

  • Help shape the future of home services as part of a small, ambitious and entrepreneurial team.

  • Tackle a wide range of challenges in a fast-moving team where priorities evolve quickly.

  • Working across strategy, product and data to test ideas, launch new features and solve meaningful problems.

  • Partnering closely with product managers, engineers and operators to turn ideas into live products that make a real impact.

  • Driving operational excellence. You’ll identify bottlenecks, improve processes and build scalable workflows that improve how our products perform day-to-day.

It’s not about ticking every box. It’s about turning up curious, ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:

  • Background in consulting, tech, or startups are helpful but not essential.

  • Strong critical thinking and a genuine interest in solving complex problems.

  • Comfortable working with data. Excel/Google Sheets is required, and experience with BI tools is a plus.

  • An AI-curious mindset. You’re interested in using automation and AI tools to work faster and have more impact.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s just a taste:

  • Competitive salary + annual bonus

  • Employee Share Program

  • Health, well-being and learning support (including access to leadership programmes and mentorship)

  • Gym membership, Smart Tech Scheme and Cycle Scheme

  • Birthday/Special day leave

  • Buy & sell holiday scheme

  • 1 week’s paid charity leave and much more!

How we’ll get to know each other:

  • Screening call with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners

  • 1st stage interview with our team leads

  • 2nd Stage interview includes a case study interview with key stakeholders

  • Final stage interview includes a case study interview

If this sounds like the place where you can do your best work, we’d love to hear from you, even if you don’t tick every box
