Operational Risk Reporting Manager

Please note this position is based in London and this will be the contractual location of the successful candidate, other locations cannot be considered.

Operational Risk Reporting Manager - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

This is a great job for someone who has knowledge of the asset management industry and the risks associated with this. This includes knowledge of financial instruments and a trade lifecycle.

A bit about the job:

The Operational Risk Reporting Manager works with the Risk Reporting team and the wider Operational Risk team to ensure that Aviva Investors continues to maintain a robust risk and control environment and meet its regulatory requirements. Within the role you will support the Senior Operational Risk Reporting manager to establish and maintain the Risk Events, Errors and Breaches Policy as well as the incidents management system. You will be required to perform second line incidents monitoring activities to assess the embeddedness of the policy across the business. You will need to escalate material failures, concerns, or themes to the Senior Manager and also support the Senior Manager in appropriately raising awareness and addressing of such concerns. In addition to this you will also play a key role in preparing moderately complex and sophisticated data analysis and deep dives that form part of the second line independent review of the business’ risk events profile to support the Senior Manager in discussions or presentations to senior stakeholders and / or committees. The role itself will enable you to be seen internally and externally (e.g. clients, peers, regulators) as a person with good knowledge in Operational Risk Event Management.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Reasonable knowledge of risk events management.

• Reasonable knowledge of risk identification, measurement, management, monitoring and reporting practices across the asset management and other financial services sectors.

• Some knowledge of the workings of the FCA and other global regulators, in particular an understanding of their key concerns and how this translates into their objectives in overseeing operational risk management.

• Has a good appreciation of working globally and is sensitive to cultural diversity.

• Sound experience and asset management background.
