Role Overview:

This role provides hands-on, in-person support for Planet’s office-based colleagues and executives, covering walk-up support, desk-side fixes, meeting-room and Microsoft Teams Rooms technology, and hands-and-feet support for the infrastructure and other IT teams. Day to day, you will be the visible face of IT in the office, resolving issues quickly, preparing devices and spaces, and keeping collaboration technology reliable.

What you will do:

  • Walk-up & desk-side support — Provide in-person support at the tech bar and at desks for endpoint, peripheral, application, and connectivity issues.

  • Meeting rooms & Teams Rooms — Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot meeting-room AV and Microsoft Teams Rooms; ensure spaces are event-ready.

  • VIP & executive support — Deliver responsive, white-glove support to senior stakeholders and their events and presentations.

  • Device lifecycle — Image, provision, deploy, and collect Windows and macOS devices; manage starters, leavers, and hardware refreshes.

  • Hands & feet — Provide on-site support for infrastructure, networks, and remote teams - cabling, comms rooms, printers, and hardware swaps.

  • Stock & asset management — Manage local hardware stock and consumables and keep asset records accurate for on-site equipment.

  • Incident & request handling — Own walk-up and assigned tickets in the ITSM tool (Jira Service Management) to resolution within SLA.

  • Events & moves — Support office moves, floor changes, and on-site events, coordinating with facilities and other IT teams.

  • Documentation — Maintain runbooks and asset records; share knowledge with the wider service desk.

Success Measures

Office colleagues and executives supported in person with fast, high-quality resolution; meeting rooms and Teams Rooms reliably event-ready; accurate on-site asset records.

Who you are:

  • Proven onsite / desk-side IT support experience, ideally supporting senior stakeholders.

  • Strong hands-on hardware skills across laptops, desktops, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices.

  • Experience supporting meeting-room AV and Microsoft Teams Rooms.

  • Good working knowledge of Windows 10/11, macOS, and Microsoft 365.

  • Device provisioning experience with Intune (Autopilot) and/or JAMF.

  • Comfortable with basic networking and cabling - patching, Wi-Fi, and comms-room hands-and-feet.

  • Confident using ITSM tooling and working to SLAs.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, customer-first manner.

  • Able to work on-site full time and to lift and handle IT equipment as needed.
