As an Oil Market Analyst, you will analyze data in the financial oil market, create reports, support analytics, and engage with clients.
The Research division of Flux seeks an individual to join their desk as an entry-level Oil Analyst. This team specialises in providing market expertise to their client base, allowing them to shine a light on the financial oil market. This role is London-based and is on-site 5 days per week and we are looking for somebody who can start immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyse and interpret information and data across financial oil and refined products market
- Present the finding in an easy-to-understand in the form of reports and infographics as well as on-screen presentations
- Support the analytics team in development of scientific approach to interpreting financial flows and supply & demand tools
- Actively participate in projects to improve the processes and procedures in developing the reports
- Build relationships with potential clients across the industry
Requirements
- Excellent MS skills including fluency with Excel formulas and functions
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a passion for data analysis, commodities and financial markets
- Outstanding English written skills
- Happy with being on camera and being involved with regular research update podcasts
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ambitious individual with track record of exceeding targets
- Confidence in building relationships over the phone
- Prior experience or interest in the financial oil and gas sector and knowledge of oil derivatives would be advantageous
- Knowledge of coding (e.g. Python, PowerBI, and other relevant data analytics software) is desirable but not essential
