NRM Capability Program Manager

NRM Performance HUB

This role is within the NRM Performance Hub, with the mission to deliver industry leading Net Revenue Growth by developing the strongest NRM capabilities and tools. Delivering proven NRM solutions at scale and delivering business value by focusing on in-market capability and adoption. The NRM performance hub has identified four solution areas for value unlock with a set of prioritised markets:

  • NRMa (NRM analytics): Suite of NRM analytics reports, backed by data foundations.

  • CBP (Customer business planning): customer planning tool to aide reporting, execution, and planning activities of customer management

  • NBA (Next Best Action): In store execution tools and capabilities

  • PEA (Post Event Analytics): Promotional evaluations

NRM Capability Program Manager is a global role and revolves around the above four solution spaces. It is a critical enabler towards the success of these platforms and tools. The incumbent of the role will be responsible for developing, curating, and deploying NRM capability assets to NRM practitioners. This needs to be done in close collaboration with BU and market commercial excellence teams. The vision for the role is to be the single point of contact globally for all NRM related capability activities. The role approaches business transformation and change management through a capability lens and therefore, experiences in BU/market in NRM, capability, SFE or other commercial or sales functions can be considered transferrable skills. The role offers plenty of exposure to interact with senior stakeholders and provides rich experience of different market archetypes. The NRM program is an enterprise program and relevant to all cross functional stakeholders, so, an understanding of personas and functions in BU and LOCs is a big advantage.

Key objective of NRM capability program is to create impact through a steady flow of targeted capability inputs as against creating sporadic spikes of activity. This involves building a NRM learning curriculum, organising existing NRM materials for deployment, raising requirements for NRM up-levelling and identifying adoption challenges and opportunities. Program communication through structured and high impact medium is a critical success factor for this role to thrive. Managing healthy engagement through communities of practice, deployment of materials through learning libraries are going to be key areas of job content. Measurement and continuous improvement of capability inputs through surveys, dipsticks, adoption metrics and other lag indicators are components of NRM capability program. The most critical success KPI for the NRM capability program is its ability to generate pull and credibility from markets.

This role entails close working relations with NRM and SFE leads, Commercial excellence leaders and other sales colleagues in identified BU and markets. Collaborative working style and building trust are going to be key soft skills as NRM Capability Program Manager. The capability program should have global blueprint, but local ownership i.e. it should have design of a global blueprint but have execution leadership from BU or market commercial excellence team. Assessments of current capability gaps and opportunity is a critical exercise to begin NRM program blueprint.

Key Stakeholders

The role reports to Global NRM Capability and Deployment Director. Key stakeholders for this role will be BU Commercial Excellence Teams, NRM Performance Hub product Teams, NRM Capability and Deployment Leads.

Key Responsibilities

In terms of the role, you can expect to undertake the following: 

  • Design and development of NRM capability program, in collaboration with product teams and capability and deployment leads in Performance Hub, BU/LOC NRM leads. This entails the following:

  • Capability gap identification methodology.

  • Define learning needs as per personas.

  • Evaluate existing NRM knowledge materials and generate requisition for new training requirements.

  • Change impact assessment and action planning.

  • Deliver NRM capability projects, as part of NRM capability program as per agreed timelines and budgets.

  • Build comms and engagement strategy for NRM capability program – eg communities of practice, sharepoint, steercos.

  • Develop measurement methodology for NRM capability inputs.

  • Operationalise the NRM capability program to prepare capability calendar for key markets, considering local capability activities.

  • Drive effective conversations with BU/markets to play the role as a capability expert, at the same time, challenge BU/markets on their legacy NRM thinking.

  • Prepare and present reports on NRM program progress, outcomes, and strategic recommendations.

  • Be a leader, provide direction and foster collaboration and a positive engaged working environment.

  • Prioritise features and enhancements based on demand, feedback, and business priority.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risk/ challenges that may impact products success.

  • Foster culture of innovation, curiosity, and growth mindset.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate.

To be effective in role, the candidate needs to have relevant functional knowledge & experience in capability area or in NRM space or related commercial skills.

Other skills include proven commercial experiences, program management, situational awareness, critical thinking, stakeholder management and execution capabilities.

In addition, experience of the following in a programme environment will be essential:

  • Adopting a proactive, challenging mindset, with focus on exceptional execution

  • Demonstrating the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and influence beyond direct area of responsibilities, navigating the organisation to ensure effective inter-team and functional workings.

  • Demonstrating a commercial understanding of the programme and objectives

  • Managing multiple initiatives running concurrently

  • Identifying and capturing risks, issues, and impediments in a timely manner, and ensuring that those identified are being managed proactively.

  • Communicating clearly and concisely to a leadership level, with the ability to engage with regional and BU teams.

  • Holding others to account

  • Clarity of business requirement and needs.

  • Direct project prioritisation and provide robust challenge to investment plans to ensure maximum value creation.

  • Design, align and deploy capability programs and event management.

  • Facilitate dialogue, debate, and challenge with stakeholders.

Experience:

To be effective in role, experience of the following in a programme environment will be essential:

  • Excellent project management experience is essential and working on commercial, commercial data and reporting would be advantageous.

  • Excellent relationship management, strong influencing, and communication skills with all levels of the organization including senior stakeholders.

  • Track record in delivering business impact.

  • Strong program and project management experience

  • Strong commercial and business understanding
