Core Responsibilities & Deliverables

Manage internal ICT systems, network infrastructure & associated services to support secure & efficient operation of the Corporate IT & Operational Technology (OT) networks in our datacentre facilities & office locations.

  • Support the installation, commissioning & testing of new network hardware & software. 
  • Own the identification, resolution & escalation of technical issues across network hardware & software. 
  • Evaluate, validate & implement critical vendor updates to network infrastructure. 
  • Deliver responsive on-site support to network users, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 
  • Manage & prioritise internal service requests, escalating to the Network Operations Manager where necessary. 
  • Develop, prepare & govern IT change control documentation in collaboration with key stakeholders. 
  • Monitor & analyse device security & event logs to proactively identify risks, issues or threats. 
  • Maintain & continuously improve network configurations & documentation. 
  • Conduct & document regular visual inspections of network infrastructure to ensure operational readiness. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure reliable BMS / OT network performance. 
  • Partner with the Security Team to support & enhance Security network operations. 
  • Provide hands-on support & troubleshooting for site IT hardware & network connectivity when required. 
  • Monitor & manage datacentre IT network performance, targeting 99.99% uptime. 
  • Provide operational support & technical guidance to the Maintenance & Security teams.

  • Drive efficiency improvements in collaboration with the global IT team. 
  • Support cross-site collaboration by assisting other datacentres with troubleshooting & technical guidance. 
  • Coordinate & deliver IT hardware setup & system access for new employees alongside the global IT team. 
  • Own ICT budget planning, forecasting & OPEX control, ensuring cost-effective operations. 
  • Manage external IT service providers, coordinating support when required to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Role Deliverables:

  • Provide operational support & technical guidance to the Maintenance & Security teams.

Team management responsibilities & key relationships

  • Reports to Data Centre Manager.
  • Coordinate with central Network Operations Manager for ICT program, compliance & technical support.
  • Collaborates with internal Maintenance & Security teams, contractors & other site stakeholders.
  • Provide 1st line support to Security team regarding building security systems (CCTV & Access control).
  • Provide 1st line support to Maintenance team regarding Building Management Systems (BMS).
Qualifications

SKILLS, qualifications AND EXPERIENCE

Core Skills (Required)

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy operational environment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong team working & interpersonal skills.
  • Proven troubleshooting & analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of developing, managing & maintaining critical ICT networks & systems.
  • 3rd party supplier & vendor management experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong Cisco Enterprise switching background, CCNA certification preferable (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong Cisco Meraki background, ECMS certification preferable (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong network security background, CompTIA SEC+ certification would be an advantage.
  • Excellent working knowledge of networking & security technologies including:
  • Cisco Enterprise Switching & FirePower Security Appliances 
  • Cisco Meraki Wired & Wireless Networking Solutions 
  • Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls 
  • Microsoft Windows Server & Active Directory
  • Hypervisor based Virtual Server environments
  • IP Telephony & Video Collaboration Solutions
  • PRTG Network Monitor
  • Microsoft Windows & Office 365

Experience (Desired)

  • Previous experience in a similar role for 3 years.
  • Previous experience of working in a datacentre or other critical environments.
  • Detailed knowledge of wired & wireless LAN architectures & protocols.
  • Experience of managing & maintaining complex multi-vendor network infrastructure.
  • Previous experience of managing operational network security. 
  • Previous experience of managing & troubleshooting critical wired & wireless networks. 
  • Previous experience with 3CX IP Telephony would an advantage. 
  • Previous experience with ForeScout network & OT security solutions would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience with Schneider EcoStruxure Building Management Systems (BMS) would be an advantage. 
  • Previous experience with Genetec CCTV & Access Control systems would be an advantage.
