Network Engineer
Operations • Full‑time • £45,000–£55,000 DOE
We’re looking for a Network Engineer to join our Operations team, supporting and maintaining the networks we manage across data centre environments and enterprise customers. You’ll play a key role within the NOC, working across multiple technologies and customer environments, troubleshooting issues, supporting change, and ensuring high service standards.
This role suits someone proactive, technically strong, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with direct customer interaction.
What you’ll do
- Support and troubleshoot networks across multiple customers and vendors
- Manage workload through internal ticketing systems
- Join regular customer calls, providing technical input and supporting CAB processes
- Monitor and manage system alerts, identifying improvements and carrying out remediation
- Create and maintain accurate network documentation for customer and internal use
- Provide technical support during projects and deployments
- Participate in network escalations and on‑call rotas
- Support customer and core network changes, including out‑of‑hours work
What you’ll bring
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols including OSPF, BGP, MPLS and LDP
- Experience with firewall policies, NAT, and network security concepts
- Solid switching knowledge (STP, LACP, VLANs, QinQ, VRRP)
- Experience using network tools such as Wireshark, PRTG or SolarWinds
- Hands‑on experience with Juniper, Cisco and Aruba hardware or virtual appliances
- Device lifecycle management experience, including patching and upgrades
- Strong customer focus and clear communication skills
Nice to have
- JNCIA‑Junos or CCNA certification
- Cloud networking experience
- Remote access solutions (e.g. Cisco AnyConnect)
- HPE Aruba mobility products (Wi‑Fi / ClearPass)
- Data centre experience (installation and patching)
- VMware or Azure virtualisation exposure
Additional requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with live production networks
- Full UK driving licence
