What we’re looking for…

We’re looking for a National Account Manager to help lead, build, and drive our One Stop account within AG Barr alongside playing a key role within our Tesco Group strategy. You will be responsible for accelerating the AG Barr business across One Stop and supporting strategic growth areas within Tesco. You will manage a balanced approach between the needs of the customer and the overarching business objectives, ensuring alignment with company goals while cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders. As the National Account Manager, you will oversee the performance and delivery of strategic initiatives whilst managing all levels of the P&L. This role requires a combination of commercial understanding, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage accounts to deliver growth.

As our Tesco Group National Account Manager, you will be accountable for:

⦁ Account Management: Lead key relationships to deliver accelerated growth within the account, taking ownership of the P&L for your area, including: leading JBP negotiations, proposing and managing promotions and spend, forecasting and reporting accurately internally through the monthly cycle. Work closely within the wider Tesco team to feed in where relevant to the wider Tesco JBP discussions and negotiations for your sub-areas.

⦁ Commercial Understanding: Develop a strong understanding of your P&L and how to drive profitable, sustainable growth within the account, to deliver against the growth objectives for the business.

⦁ Forecasting & Data Management: Own the process for weekly, period, and annual forecasting, using multiple data sources to generate accurate and actionable forecasts. Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure forecasts are executed seamlessly.

⦁ Negotiation & Influencing: Build comprehensive joint business plans with One Stop to leverage the strategic partnership and land drive key business objectives.

⦁ Building Customer Influence: Adapt communication style and approach to align with customer needs. Gain deep insights into customers’ internal systems and objectives, using this knowledge to create effective and customer-centric plans.

⦁ Channel Focus: Work closely with Convenience Centre of Excellence to ensure a best-in-class Convenience approach is leveraged within One Stop and used to inform the Tesco Express Strategy.

⦁ Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: Build strong relationships internally with the cross-functional team (shopper, category, digital, supply chain, category etc) and externally with key external stakeholders.

⦁ Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Use multiple data sources (Kantar & Circana) to analyse insights and turn into tangible action, in partnership with the Category team.

What you’ll bring…

  • Experience in account management within an FMCG environment (Grocery experience preferable).
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, forecasting, and business development within the grocers. Proven ability to build and deliver joint business plans and negotiate effectively to drive results.
  • Experience in managing senior-level relationships internally and externally. Ability to influence decision-makers and effectively present at various organisational levels.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with CRM, forecasting tools, and Google Office.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
