Job Title -Mobile Dispensing Assistant

Location - Crawley

Rota - Monday-Saturday with day off in the week to be confirmed

Salary - £26,780

We're looking for a passionate and customer-focused Mobile Dispensing Assistant to join our mobile team and provide support across our practices.

As a Mobile Dispensing Assistant, you'll travel between practices, delivering first-class customer service and helping patients find the optical solutions that best suit their lifestyle and vision needs.

About the Role

No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding position. Working across our practices, you'll be the friendly face that welcomes patients into our stores while supporting dispensing services.

You'll play a key role in ensuring patients receive an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive through to the collection of their eyewear.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome patients and provide a warm, professional experience.

Manage appointments and maintain accurate patient records.

Support patients with enquiries both in person and over the phone.

Resolve customer concerns efficiently and professionally.

Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, visual requirements, and personal style.

Promote the full range of optical and hearing care products and services.

Optical Dispensing & Patient Support

Take accurate spectacle measurements and ensure prescription orders are processed correctly.

Dispense and fit spectacles, ensuring optimal comfort and vision with supervision of a GOC registered dispensing optician.

Adjust and repair frames where appropriate.

Manage customer orders and keep patients updated throughout their journey.

Support contact lens patients with insertion, removal, and aftercare guidance.

Provide information on additional clinical services including myopia management, OCT scans, low vision aids, and hearing care solutions.

Clinical & Administrative Support

Carry out pre-screening and diagnostic procedures including visual field screening, OCT, and other clinical support tasks.

Prepare clinic paperwork and ensure appointments run smoothly.

Process payments and daily banking accurately.

Maintain stock levels, displays, and inventory records.

Support the wider practice team in delivering operational excellence.

Mobile Branch Support

Travel across practices within the Surrey region to provide dispensing and customer care support.

Adapt quickly to different branch environments while maintaining consistently high standards.

Work closely with Branch Managers and colleagues to support branch performance and patient satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service

12 months experience working in an optical environment

Confident working with people from all backgrounds

Organised, adaptable, and comfortable working across multiple locations

A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Enthusiastic about learning and developing within the optical and hearing care industry

A full UK driving licence holder
