Job Description

The Marketing Assistant will support the delivery of the marketing plan across campaigns, content, digital activity, CRM, events, internal communications, and reporting. This role is suited to someone who already has 2–3 years of marketing experience and is ready to take greater ownership of day-to-day execution while continuing to develop broader commercial and strategic marketing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day marketing activity across content, email, digital, social, collateral, and campaign execution.

  • Coordinate and support marketing campaigns including timelines, briefs, approvals, asset management, and supplier follow-up.

  • Create and schedule content for newsletters, e-shots, campaigns, product activity, and customer communications.

  • Support digital marketing activity including website updates, landing pages, email campaigns, and online content publishing.

  • Assist with CRM-related activity, including audience segmentation, contact data coordination, and basic reporting.

  • Use Salesforce, or work alongside Salesforce users, to support campaign execution, lead handling, contact management, and marketing data accuracy where relevant.

  • Prepare and update presentations, one-pagers, promotional materials, customer-facing collateral, and internal marketing documents.

  • Support event and sponsorship activity including logistics, marketing materials, and follow-up actions.

  • Assist with internal communications, culture campaigns, CSR communications, and engagement activity.

  • Compile marketing reports, track activity performance, maintain dashboards or trackers, and support insight gathering for campaigns and market activity.

  • Manage multiple deadlines and ensure marketing assets and communications are delivered accurately and on time.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to keep activity moving and maintain strong execution standards.

Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a marketing, digital marketing, campaign, communications, or marketing executive role.

  • Experience supporting or delivering campaigns, content, email marketing, digital updates, events, or collateral.

  • Experience working with marketing calendars, asset management, reporting, and campaign coordination.

  • Some exposure to CRM or marketing database tools is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce would be highly desirable, particularly for campaign coordination, contact segmentation, reporting support, or sales and marketing alignment.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related subject would be beneficial, but practical experience is equally important.

  • Experience in B2B, food, ingredients, manufacturing, or trade marketing would be an advantage but is not essential.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good all-round marketing execution skills across content, digital, campaigns, and coordination.

  • Strong written communication and copy drafting ability.

  • Good organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage several activities at once.

  • Strong attention to detail, especially in proofing, formatting, campaign setup, and reporting.

  • Confidence working across teams and with external suppliers.

  • Ability to work independently on routine marketing tasks while escalating appropriately when needed.

  • Good commercial awareness and interest in how marketing supports business growth.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing data processes, ideally using Salesforce.

  • Positive, proactive, and hands-on approach to delivery.
