Environmental Resources Management (ERM)

ERM is seeking an experienced Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Project Manager to join our growing Project Finance team in the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable consultant who is ready to take on more responsibility, deliver high‑quality ESIA work, and grow their career within a global sustainability leader.

Role Overview

As an ESIA Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering environmental and social impact assessments for major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects across the region. You will support project management, contribute to technical delivery, and ensure compliance with regulations and international lender standards.

This role is ideal for someone with strong ESIA experience who enjoys hands‑on delivery, coordination, and client interaction—without the pressure of leading business development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and delivery of Environmental & Social Impact Assessments in line with regulatory requirements and international lender standards.

  • Apply IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and other international E&S frameworks to project work.

  • Contribute to baseline studies, impact assessments, stakeholder engagement planning, and mitigation strategies.

  • Assist in managing multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating tasks to ensure timely, high‑quality outputs.

  • Engage with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders to support project approvals and compliance.

  • Prepare clear, well‑structured technical reports and presentations.

  • Support senior team members in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentor junior colleagues where appropriate.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • Solid technical understanding of ESIA methodologies and socio‑economic assessment.

  • Experience applying IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, or other lender requirements.

  • Proven consultancy experience delivering ESIA projects for private or public sector clients.

  • Project management experience within an ESIA or environmental consulting context.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality deliverables.

  • Experience working in the energy, mining or emerging markets is an advantage.

Ideal Profile

  • Experience across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, mining and industrial development.

  • Ability to coordinate complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.

  • A collaborative, solutions‑oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills.

What This Role Offers

  • The chance to work on high‑profile development projects.

  • A supportive, international team with excellent opportunities for professional development.

  • Exposure to industry‑leading ESIA work aligned with global best practice.

  • A purpose‑driven environment where sustainability is at the heart of the organisation.
