It listens to billions of ad auctions per day, decides which of our hundreds of customers should participate, and executes complex bidding strategies to provide optimal results, in milliseconds.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of software engineers, providing them with direction, guidance, and opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with the BuyerCloud Product Management team to deliver new features to Buyercloud customers.
- Provide guidance on technical architecture, design philosophies, and engineering practices for your team.
- Drive improvements to Ad Serving software infrastructure.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets.
- Review team members' work to ensure quality to team standards.
- Provide technical support and training in Ad Serving capabilities.
- Implement and review employee performance metrics.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Working conditions
- The Manager, Software Engineering, must successfully work with team members located in multiple remote locations and time zones. Working conditions agree with conditions described within FreeWheel's company handbook unless explicitly noted in this document.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years related experience with technical leadership. Experience in the media or advertising industry is a huge plus.
- 10+ years of overall software development experience.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficient in building distributed applications using object-oriented languages such as C++, Java, Rust, or Go.
- Experience in deploying and operating applications in a public cloud provider.
- Proficient in Jira, Confluence, Git, and MS Office products.
- AWS certification is a bonus
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience
- Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
