Our role is to inspire courage, so tomorrow’s progress isn’t limited by today’s risks.

Our shared values: we are brave; we are stronger together; we do the right thing; guide what we do and how we act. If you share our values and our passion to build a future that’s more sustainable, resilient and inclusive, you’ll find a home at Lloyd’s – build a braver future with us.

At Lloyd’s, we exist to support global trade and protect what matters most. When things go wrong at sea, speed, trust and expertise matter. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Manager, Salvage Arbitration Branch to lead the team that sits at the heart of Lloyd’s Open Form (LOF)—a globally respected framework that enables rapid salvage response, protects the environment and keeps commerce moving.

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the Salvage Arbitration Branch with integrity, manage complex cases and take ownership of how LOF is managed, administered and promoted worldwide.

That means you’ll:

  • Lead and prioritise team workloads against KPIs and SLAs, supporting development and capability across the team

  • Provide end‑to‑end case management for LOF matters, from first alert to final award

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for underwriters, brokers, salvors, legal advisers, arbitrators and international stakeholders

  • Oversee the collection and validation of salvage securities and the distribution of arbitration awards

  • Manage SAB financial accounts, fees and reporting, working closely with Finance and Tax

  • Ensure risk screening and internal controls are robust, current and transparent

  • Own the publication of LOF awards, statistics and content on Lloyds.com

  • Represent Lloyd’s at industry meetings, salvage seminars and global marine forums

  • Support strategic priorities across Claims Operations, deputising where needed

You’ll do all this while protecting Lloyd’s reputation for fairness, expertise and trust.

What you’ll bring

You bring calm leadership, technical credibility and a collaborative mindset.

You’ll likely have:

  • Strong knowledge of the maritime sector, with hands‑on experience in marine claims (cargo and/or hull)

  • A solid understanding of Lloyd’s Open Form and marine salvage

  • Experience managing complex, high‑value cases with multiple stakeholders

  • Confidence communicating clearly with senior market participants and external partners

  • A practical understanding of risk management, governance and financial controls

  • The ability to stay objective under pressure and make sound decisions

  • A team‑focused approach, with a passion for developing others

Most importantly, you’ll care about doing the right thing—and doing it well.

Diversity and inclusion are a focus for us – Lloyd’s aim is to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we work in.  One where everyone is treated with dignity and respect to achieve their full potential. In practice, this means we are positive and inclusive about making workplace adjustments, we offer regular health and wellbeing programmes, diversity and inclusion training, employee networks, mentoring and volunteering opportunities as well as investment into your professional development. You can read more about diversity and inclusion on our website.

We understand that our work/life balance is important to us all and that a hybrid of working from the office and home can offer a great level of flexibility.  Flexible working forms part of a total reward approach which offers a host of other benefits over and above the standard offering (generous pension, healthcare, wellbeing etc).  These include financial support for training, education & development, a benefit allowance (to spend on our flexible benefits such as gym membership, dental insurance, extra holiday or to partake in our cycle to work scheme), employee recognition scheme and various employee discount schemes.

By choosing Lloyd's, you'll be part of a team that brings together the best minds in the industry, and together with our underwriters and brokers, we create innovative, responsive solutions allowing us to share risk and solve complex problems.
