Manager, Risk & Compliance

Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org. 

In this role you will play a key part in ensuring compliance and risk management for the B2B division at Expedia Group. 

This role implements and maintains high standards for compliance oversight and acts as a trusted business advisor across various teams (e.g., Commercial Finance, Technology, Product) to make recommendations on process improvements, risk management, contract interpretation, and other areas. 

This role oversees daily compliance activities & serves as the EG liaison for third-party audits.

In this role, you will :

  • Manage daily activities and requirements of the B2B Risk and Compliance Program related to third-party partnerships (e.g., compliance-related inquiries, assessments and attestations).
  • Support partner audits, including coordination of planning and logistics of partner audits.
  • Help manage the B2B component of the EG Enterprise RIsk Management program, including maintenance of the risk register for B2B risks, coordination with risk teams across EG, and other risk management activities as assigned.
  • Plan, scope and execute risk assessments and/or audit projects of the B2B business.
  • Develop, implement, and manage new ways of monitoring compliance with EG’s contractual obligations to our partners, including tooling, maintenance, and oversight. 
  • Partner with business owners to develop and execute procedures to detect and prevent non-compliance and mitigate various types of risk, including operational, regulatory, and reputational risk.
  • Review and analyze various business practices against existing policies and procedures to suggest improvements to address changes to business practices.
  • Ensure that new partner agreements are driven to completion while ensuring that EG’s compliance obligations are achieved.
  • Track solutions and follows up with control owners on compliance-related actions and management of internal controls.
  • Communicate across various levels of the organization; influence partners and senior leaders with audience-appropriate messages and relevant information.
  • Contribute to cross team collaboration and leads alignment of work with broader initiatives.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field ; or related professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in a corporate environment with experience in audit, compliance management, risk management, and/or process improvements.
  • Working knowledge of effective internal controls.
  • A strong track record of effective people management. 
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks.
  • Ability to work under pressure while navigating ambiguity and resolving conflicts.
  • Experience working both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of information security standards, banking regulations and operational standards a plus.
  • Experience interfacing with commercial partners in complex environments

Please note that this role is only available in the following locations: London and Madrid, in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office at least three days a week. We are unable to offer relocation assistance for this role.

The total cash range for this position in Madrid is €53,000.00 to €74,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to €85,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
