Job Overview:

The Manager Quality Operations requires an in-depth understanding of Operations concepts, theories,  principles, and basic knowledge of other related disciplines. They must be able to apply an understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies for the Operations discipline, as well as identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact effectiveness. The Manager Quality Operations impacts the level of service and the Operations team’s ability to meet quality and timeliness objectives. Policies, resource requirements, budgets, and the business plan should guide decisions made by the Manager Quality Operations.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all areas of quality for pre-contract planning
  • Coordinate with Engineering in the development of inspection and test plans  
  • Assure enough QA/QC resources are available to support all Project Processes
  • Assure that Quality requirements are included in subcontractor(s) contract requirements  
  • Review key project deliverables to confirm compliance with quality requirements  
  • Review applicable subcontractors/supplier’s quality documentation  
  • Assure project quality documentation and records are developed and maintained
  • Identify non-conformances
  • Liaise with the project Quality team and Project management on quality-related issues
  • Prepare and maintain the Project Quality Manual
  • Manage and coordinate Procedure Program Implementation– including New Procedure Generation, revisions, and compliance  
  • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of potential Subcontractors  
  • Perform Project Audits by preparing audit schedules
  • Identify the need for and coordinate the development of, review, and issue all special project procedures per contract requirements  
  • Monitor the effectiveness of QMS
  • Monitor and report company KPIs  
  • Provide Quality reports to senior management as required  
  • Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
  • Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
  • Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred in a related field of study
  • 10+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry in a Quality Manager role
  • Overall experience in the application of Quality Management principles in the construction industry  
  • Able to communicate and write clearly and concisely  
  • Competent user of in-house software with working knowledge of wider applications
  • Internal/External Auditor Qualifications
