Overview
The Digital Product Specialist team's mission is to drive the adoption and scale of Mastercard's Digital Payments solutions by helping customers deliver more secure, seamless, and intelligent commerce experiences. We partner with leading merchants, digital platforms, PSPs, acquirers, and technology providers to accelerate adoption of Mastercard solutions, including network tokenization, Click to Pay, authentication, payment optimization, and emerging digital commerce capabilities.
The team is responsible for understanding customer objectives, identifying opportunities to create value, and partnering with Customer Account Managers (CAMs), Product Management, and Product Delivery to move customers from strategy through implementation and scale. We also serve as the voice of the customer, bringing market insights and feedback into the product organization to inform product strategy, roadmap priorities, and go-to-market execution.
The role of Manager, Product Specialist - Merchants is critical to achieving North America Digital Payments growth objectives by developing strategic partnerships with merchants and key ecosystem participants.
Role
Drive adoption and scale of Mastercard Digital Payments solutions, including network tokenization, Click to Pay, authentication, payment optimization, and emerging commerce capabilities.
Build trusted advisor relationships with merchant executives and digital commerce leaders by understanding their business objectives and helping shape payment strategies that improve authorization performance, security, customer experience, and business outcomes.
Partner closely with CAMs to identify opportunities, build account plans, and develop pipelines that contribute to Digital Payments growth objectives and KPI targets.
Work with PSPs, acquirers, gateways, ISVs, commerce platforms, and other ecosystem partners to accelerate merchant enablement through scalable distribution channels.
Serve as a subject matter expert and "digital storyteller," translating complex payment innovations into compelling narratives for customers, internal stakeholders, and executive audiences.
Own and manage growth KPIs across assigned accounts and partner segments, including tokenization penetration, authentication adoption, Click to Pay enablement, and related performance metrics.
Leverage internal and external data to identify opportunities, measure performance, build business cases, and deliver actionable insights. Create, analyze, and present data-driven reporting and executive-level narratives to internal stakeholders and external customers to influence strategy and business outcomes.
Gather and communicate Voice of Customer insights to influence product strategy, roadmap priorities, and go-to-market execution.
Lead customer engagement throughout the pre-implementation lifecycle and coordinate successful handoff to Product Delivery teams.
Act as an escalation point for strategic customer issues and support commercial discussions and customer agreements with product expertise.

Data-driven with experience analyzing performance metrics, developing executive reporting, creating customer-facing business insights, and translating data into clear recommendations and action plans.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences and executive stakeholders.

Experience supporting large strategic merchants, digital platforms, PSPs, acquirers, or technology partners preferred.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
