We are looking for a Logistics Lead – Lifting and Blade Moving for our port based in Alexandra Dock - Hull, United Kingdom.

This role will over-see the team, split across four shifts, responsible for the lifting and movement of blades and associated equipment to ensure the smooth operation and blade production process. This important team is being established following expansion of the factory and the production of larger products. Working alongside the Lifting and Blade Moving Engineer and Instructor- Logistics this position will grow the existing team and take the necessary action to ensure the team can perform at the highest level inline with increasing production demands

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • To capture and understand the nature of lifts and blade movements, to ensure these are documented and risk assessed and adequately trained in partnership with Lifting and Blade Moving Engineer and Instructor -Logistics

  • Identifying and building teams to execute blade moves and lifts, based on skills and training competencies

  • To use routing information (data) to continuously strive for process improvement and optimization

  • Co-ordinate the scheduling of blade moves, including lifting both internal and external to the factory

  • Ensure necessary documentation such as work instructions and processes are in place and fit for purpose ahead of moves

  • Work closely with existing planning teams to ensure accurate flow of product

  • To become an appointed person’ for the creation and development of lift plans

  • In the event of incident to investigate and put in place remedial action

  • Monitor, manage and investigate weekly performance

  • Strong Management / Leadership experience

  • Experience on Lean tool implementation

  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines

  • Proven Management experience preferably within cranes or moving equipment environment
