We are now looking for a Line Manager within product design organisation, who will be heading product design activities by defining the next generation of antenna solutions, translating cutting-edge technology into market-leading, cost-optimized products deployed globally.
This role is part of the EAS Product Design Leadership Team and reports directly to the Head of Product Design, playing a key role in shaping the future direction of our products. As a leadership position, it offers a unique opportunity to directly influence technology direction, drive system performance excellence, and strengthen our overall business competitiveness. You will lead the team of over 25 people. The role is based in Rosenheim, Germany.
You will be responsible • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary unit in Product Design, comprising engineers across RF, electronics, and mechanical disciplines, responsible for the antenna design of base station antennas, embedded, and interleaved antenna systems.
• Own and manage antenna design releases for assigned products, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with Quality/Performance, Time, and Cost (QTC) objectives.
• Manage allocation of work and resources to meet program milestones, quality targets and delivery schedules • Lead by example as a visible role model, providing regular coaching and structured mentoring to develop team members, elevate team performance, and ensure succession readiness across the organization.
• Coordinate with appointed technical leaders to align technical priorities, remove impediments and ensure consistent engineering practices. • Own hiring, onboarding, and retention activities for the team, including workforce planning and building bench strength where needed. • Ensure clear communication with stakeholders in Product Design, Project and Program Management, Systems and Operations; escalate risks and drive mitigation actions. • Promote and enforce safety, quality, compliance and documentation standards in labs and offices. • Drive continuous improvement in team processes (development workflows, design reviews, verification, cross-functional handovers).
You will bring
• Proven experience in people management (first-line manager) of engineering teams; ability to lead multidisciplinary groups. • A Master's or University degree in telecommunications, engineering, technology, or an equivalent qualification • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to stakeholders and negotiating priorities with cross-functional partners. • Background or experience specifically with antenna systems preferably in base station antenna business, RF front-end components or related products. • Demonstrated ability to plan work, manage resources, and deliver complex technical projects on time and to specification. • Experience working with technical leads; able to balance people management with supporting technical decision-making without duplicating technical leadership. • Problem-solving mindset, ability to identify risks early and implement pragmatic mitigation measures. • Commitment to developing talent: coaching, mentoring and building inclusive team culture. • Solid understanding of engineering development processes relevant to RF/mechanical/electronic/software product development and integration is nice to have .
