We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support our Energy Trading business who can work independently and who will work closely with various departments within IMC, including Risk, Compliance, Finance, Trading and Technology.
TASKS
Your core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that IMC Trading's operations are conducted in compliance with legal requirements, IMC policies and ethical business practices
- Contract drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, including energy trading-related agreements (e.g. BRP-, Gas License-, Hub-, Interconnector-, Border-point-, Exchange-, Broker-, EFET agreements) as well as commercial-, IT/IP-and procurement agreements
- Assist in onboarding with exchanges and TSO's
- Monitor and interpret evolving market legal structures (changes to TSO framework agreements)
- Support licensing and passporting processes across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Trading, and Operations teams to ensure legal risk is effectively managed
- Liaise with external counsel in jurisdictions where the company does not have a local presence
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Your skills and experience:
- Academic Law degree
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a Law Firm and/or as In-house Legal Counsel
- Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with Energy- and Contract law
- Should bring a high degree of pragmatism, a strong sense of urgency and initiative
- Motivated, proactive with a hands-on mentality
- Strong and confident communicator
- Collaborative team player with a good sense of humour
- Ability to act independently and perform successfully in a fast paced, technology driven and by times high-pressured environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
