More about our mission and what we offer.

Job Description

Your mission:

Wise continues to pioneer new ways for people to send, spend and manage their money across borders and currencies.

Your mission is to enable, protect and empower the business and people of Wise to help achieve growth with minimal distraction.

About the role:

  • Work closely with our People and Legal teams globally to provide strategic advice on employment law-related issues, including recruitment, payroll and tax, compensation and benefits, and people operations.

  • Draft and advise on employment-related agreements and policies globally, including employment contracts and offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements and codes of conduct.

  • Advise, partner and liaise with various internal stakeholders to develop processes and provide training for common employee-related issues, and drive other employment-related projects and initiatives.

  • Support employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and restructuring processes.

  • Advise on employment disputes and oversee employment tribunal (and overseas equivalent) cases.

  • Provide guidance on employment law developments across the countries in which Wise operates, helping ensure our practices remain aligned with local legal frameworks.

  • Report to Senior Legal Counsel (Employment).

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your path to impact - we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. So rather than being told what to do, you’ll take ownership from day one. Of course, you will have feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll experience unique levels of ownership and empowerment within your role.

  • Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.

Qualifications

About you:

  • UK-qualified employment lawyer with 2 to 4 years PQE.

  • Ability to navigate difficult issues and multiple stakeholders, advising the business on key benefits and risks, and developing solutions.

  • Ability to juggle multiple matters at once across different jurisdictions.

  • Ability to communicate legal advice in a succinct and pragmatic way to different areas of the business.

  • Have a get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem solving.

Additional Information

Key benefits:

  • The opportunity to work with smart, motivated and curious people

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • Stock options

  • Generous parental leave

  • Private healthcare plan

  • Pension scheme

  • 6 weeks’ paid sabbatical every 4 years

  • Development opportunities

  • Opportunities to travel internationally

  • A fun work environment with social activities and events

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders  — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
