Serve as a trusted advisor on a range of legal and regulatory issues and guide stakeholders on how those legal requirements are internally documented and maintained.
The Legal Department at JPMorgan Chase & Co. manages legal and other risks, advises on products and services, interprets laws and regulations that impact the firm, and advises the firm on other matters.
As a Legal and Regulatory Inventory Management Assistant General Counsel/Senior Counsel within the Office of Legal Obligations, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Legal Department in documenting JPMorgan Chase's significant legal obligations and monitoring related legal and regulatory changes. You will be part of a global, firmwide program tasked with developing and implementing a sustainable infrastructure and process that documents JPMorgan Chase's obligations arising from material laws, regulations, and rules, and links these obligations to relevant policies, procedures, or other compliance-supporting documentation. As a member of a global team of lawyers, project managers, and other professionals with a strong regulatory awareness and understanding of the risks of non-compliance, you will leverage your robust analytical, communication, and collaborative skills to advise other members of the Legal Department, as well as our compliance, controls, and business partners on a wide range of matters in a dynamic environment. Job responsibilities

  • Work closely with the rest of the Legal Department to develop and maintain an inventory of legal obligations for JPMorgan Chase's businesses in France or Italy and respond to questions from the business and corporate functions about the legal obligations
  • Monitor, identify, and document changes in legal and regulatory developments for France or Italy, including providing written summaries to the Legal Department, the business, and other corporate functions
  • Research and analyze laws, regulations and rules to assess applicability and impact to JPMorgan Chase
  • Promote evergreen efforts of the inventory, focusing on quality assurance, consistency, comprehensiveness, and accuracy of legal obligations
  • Develop subject matter expertise on products and services offered by JPMorgan Chase as required
  • Assist with the development of policies, procedures and controls
  • Work closely with technology partners to develop technology solutions to support the team's work


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Lawyer qualified to practice in France or Italy with a relevant work experience, obtained in private practice or in-house
  • Fluency in English and French or Italian is a must
  • Experience in EU and French or Italian financial services regulation
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely summarize legal and regulatory developments for distribution to a non-legal audience
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with the business, corporate functions, and fellow legal and support professionals
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • A true "self-starter" with the ability to work independently to manage competing priorities and coordinate among a wide range of internal stakeholders


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with regulatory change monitoring
  • Qualified to practice law in Luxembourg or Spain
  • Fluency in Spanish
