Role

Responsible for compliance support relating to the design, development and implementation of product governance frameworks, policies and procedures to meet product related regulatory requirements. (Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance related topics in relation to UCITS, AIFMD and MiFID II , providing direction and leadership on the below primary responsibilities.

Every person in the product compliance team supports legal, regulatory, and compliance work and is expected to work with other associates across multiple jurisdictions. The precise requirements of the role will develop over time in response to the changing needs of the business, however, we would expect the successful candidate to have the following main responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities/essential functions

  • Ensure appropriate frameworks and processes, policies and procedures are in place to meet regulatory requirements for funds and mandates.

  • Support product teams with advice and support to meet regulatory obligations in relation to the product lifecycle, this is to include governance, costs and charges, assessment of value, stress testing.

  • Ensure product related systems and controls are in place, effective and reviewed on a regular basis.

  • Support assess new product related regulations, advise on their applicability to Capital Group funds, and support the implementation of any required changes.

  • Establish and develop external networks with industry associations to gather intelligence and advise the business of relevant developments.

  • Assisting other compliance team members or other business departments with responses to product related queries or troubleshooting issues.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Skills/qualifications

  • Experience of alternative investment funds and alternative investment managers in a compliance related role. Excellent knowledge and awareness of the key regulatory regimes applicable to alternative investment managers, including AIFMD.

  • Good understanding and experience of the European and Global investment management regulatory environment.

  • Good knowledge and awareness of UCITS and MiFID II.

  • Excellent relationship and influencing skills with the ability to remain impartial and independent in your views.

  • A curious and enquiring mindset, willing to listen to the perspectives of others. Will seek to uncover real and important differences of opinion. Will challenge the status quo.

  • Strong commitment to quality, accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Effective written and oral communications skills with team members and managers.

  • Ability to prioritize work and complete in a timely manner.

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Ability to adapt to the needs of a growing business.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Ability to utilize technology to enhance and automate, refine, and streamline processes.

Core requirements:

  • Degree / 10+ years of asset management compliance experience.

  • Able to speak, draft and work in English; second language a preference.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
