We’re seeking a consultant to join Development, Learning and Skills within the People Function on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. 

 

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the build, deployment, and maintenance of the Nationwide AI Academy – our organisation-wide approach to developing AI capability for leaders, specialists and all colleagues.

 

You’ll support the end-to-end coordination, planning, reporting and continuous improvement of AI and broader learning programmes such as the AI Specialist, helping to embed capability at scale and drive measurable impact.

 

You will support the AI Academy as a core capability platform, helping to:

 

  • Build and operationalise learning pathways (e.g. AI for Everybody, AI Leaders, AI Specialists)

  • Deploy learning through Grow and other channels

  • Track, measure and improve adoption, engagement and outcomes

 

Alongside this, you’ll support wider organisation-wide learning delivery roll out and coordination of the AI Specialist programme ensuring it is well governed, insight-led and continuously improving.

 

This role combines learning operations, data & insight, and stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on translating learning into real business capability.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or Glasgow office. Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

 

You will be supporting the build and deployment of the AI Academy, including coordination of pathways, content and learning journeys, managing the day-to-day operation of the AI Academy, ensuring smooth delivery and continuous improvement while developing and maintaining learning reporting and dashboards, tracking adoption, completion and impact.

 

Provision of clear insights on AI capability progress across teams, functions and stakeholder groups will be part of this role as will an encouragement to enable line managers and stakeholders to promote, track and reinforce learning within their teams

            

You will coordinate the AI Specialist learning programme monthly engagement sessions, including scheduling, communications, stakeholder engagement, launching events to participants managing programme governance, risks and dependencies, ensuring programmes are audit ready.

 

You’ll also partner with SMEs and business stakeholders to ensure learning is aligned to AI governance, risk and business needs supporting engagement approaches (e.g. AI Specialist communities) to drive behaviour change and adoption 

 

A key responsibility will be to continuously improve learning processes, platforms and learner experience.
 

 

About you

 

You’ll bring experience of coordinating or delivering initiatives at scale, with a passion for building capability and improving learning outcomes.

 

  • Experience delivering AI, digital or future skills programmes at scale

  • Strong understanding of generative AI and its application in learning and capability building

  • Knowledge of the full learning cycle, from needs analysis through to design, delivery, adoption and evaluation

  • Experience using learning platforms and reporting tools, such as Grow learning and Power BI, to generate insight and track impact

  • Proven ability to support behaviour change, capability building and learning adoption initiatives

  • Strong planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence across teams

  • Clear, simple communication skills, especially when translating complex topics for different audiences
