About Vector
Vector is the firm's software engineering community. 17,000 subscribers strong and growing rapidly, Vector brings our engineers together on a daily basis through a continuous stream of activities that promote knowledge sharing, networking, strategy alignment and technical excellence.

Vector's mission is to facilitate and motivate the personal development of software engineers building and operating applications in the cloud by delivering relevant content in a variety of formats (peer-to-peer presentations, demos, labs, hackathons, coding competitions and more), creating regular opportunities for engineers to learn from their peers, and aligning our developers with the firm's global technology strategy and one another. The result is a community of more knowledgeable, skilled, connected and motivated engineers, accelerated adoption of the public cloud, and a firm that is an attractive employer for those who want to build modern software.

The Role
We are seeking an Innovation Hub & Community Lead to join the small, dedicated team that runs Vector. This role focuses on two core areas: (1) defining, building out, and continuously refining Vector’s Innovation Hub and its end-to-end idea progression process, and (2) organising and promoting Vector activities and events.

The successful candidate will create the vision and operating model to take the Innovation Hub from its current pre-production state to a fully functional, always-on system—and to establish a regular (ideally continuous) mechanism that surfaces the best ideas from the broader technology community and turns them into delivered outcomes.

You’ll work closely with a global network of volunteer Regional Leads who connect to each location and act as local culture carriers, helping ensure the Hub and Vector’s programming are globally inclusive and locally relevant.

Key Responsibilities

Innovation Hub
You will be responsible for the Innovation Hub from both a product and process point-of-view (i.e: the web application and the innovation pipeline it supports end-to-end: gathering ideas, evaluating and prioritising them, proving feasibility/value, and obtaining senior sponsorship to progress them into delivery).  The role will entail:

  • Product Ownership & Vision
Define the Hub’s product vision, value proposition, target users, and success metrics. Establish and maintain a transparent “idea-to-outcome” lifecycle (intake → triage → evaluation → proof-of-concept → sponsorship → outcome reporting).
Build and manage a roadmap that transitions the Hub from pre-production to an always-on, continuously operating mechanism.
  • Application Ownership (operational accountability, not software development). Take responsibility for the Hub’s reliability, availability, and day-to-day operating model, partnering with the software engineers in the Vector team and other engineering, platform, and operations teams as necessary. Drive adoption: onboarding, documentation, comms, feedback loops, and continuous improvements to user experience and process clarity.
  • Information Ownership
Define how information is handled throughout the idea lifecycle, allowing effective idea contribution and evaluation. Ensure the Hub becomes a trusted source of truth for innovation pipeline status and outcomes.
  • Stakeholder & Community Integration
Build a network of volunteers to assist with Hub development and innovation pipeline activities. Leverage Vector to promote the Hub, opening it to the global community. Engage on a daily basis with senior leaders to support and sponsor ideas, and the Hub itself.
  • Community & Events
Organise and deliver Vector activities and partner with and support the regional leads.
Facilitate sessions confidently and energetically, acting as a visible ambassador for the community. Leverage and expand your network across the JPMorganChase technology community
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate program planning and risk synthesis (e.g., consolidating inputs into integrated plans, RAID, and executive-ready updates), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity requirements.
  • Promotes reuse-first, AI-assisted practices for program governance and reporting, ensuring human review and alignment to delivery standards.

Required capabilities, skills and experience

  • Strong community / initiative ownership experience, with a track record of bringing new ideas and improvements to a brown-field project, and successfully delivering them.
  • Experience defining and running deadline-driven processes, ideally in innovation or community engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups (contributors, evaluators, sponsors, delivery teams), driving alignment and decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including comfort facilitating sessions and presenting confidently to large audiences.
  • Very strong attention to detail, high personal standards, ownership mentality, and ability to context-switch rapidly (e.g: between Hub and community activities).
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support program management workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted plans, risks, and recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following data handling expectations.

Preferred capabilities, skills and experience

  • A broad existing network within the JPMorganChase technology community.
  • Experience organising events, communities, developer-relations initiatives, or other internal engagement programs.
  • Comfort being a visible community presence—on stage when needed, while enabling others to lead and be recognised.

Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to shape how innovation is discovered, evaluated, and delivered across a large global organisation, while also playing a key part in creating the world's best internal software engineering community.
