The Lead, Infrastructure Lifecycle & Technical Debt owns the enterprise strategy and delivery for reducing infrastructure lifecycle risk and technical debt.

This role drives modernization to keep platforms secure, supported, resilient, and aligned with business priorities.

The role is to work across technology teams to set priorities, govern delivery, and provide clear insight to leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise strategy, governance, and roadmap for infrastructure lifecycle and technical debt management.

  • Identify and prioritize lifecycle risks and technical debt using business impact, security, resilience, and regulatory considerations.

  • Drive remediation, modernization, and decommissioning initiatives with accountable technology owners.

  • Oversee delivery across the portfolio, resolving dependencies and escalating risks where required.

  • Establish reliable lifecycle data, metrics, and reporting to support investment and risk decisions.

  • Advise technology leadership on priorities, progress, and residual infrastructure risk.

Required skills and qualifications

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Deep experience in infrastructure, IT operations, technical program management, or technology transformation, with a proven track record of leading large-scale, complex initiatives.

  • Proven success leading enterprise lifecycle, modernization, or technical debt programs; financial services or regulated-industry experience is preferred.

Technical and professional skills

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, technology lifecycle management, and infrastructure risk.

  • Experience working across asset, configuration, architecture, security, vulnerability, and IT service management functions.

  • Strong program management and analytical skills, including prioritization, portfolio oversight, and executive reporting.

Leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive accountability without direct authority.

  • Sound judgment and a proven ability to deliver outcomes in a matrixed organization.
