The Mission: Why We Exist

Genomics is a science-led transatlantic TechBio combining large-scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare. We are united by a single vision to help people live longer, healthier lives, using the power of genomics.

Genomics aims to help people live longer, healthier lives in two ways: super-charging drug discovery and development for novel treatments with our AI-enabled advanced genetic analytics platform, and by helping people understand their personal risk of common chronic diseases through polygenic risk scores - giving doctors and health systems the chance to get the right people into the right prevention, screening and treatment programmes at the right time.

Role Purpose

As the Lead Data Manager, you are the engine behind our data ecosystem. You will lead the identification, acquisition, and curation of high-quality data for our SaaS platform, Mystra. You will bridge Science and Engineering, serving as as the Product Owner for data management tooling, ensuring our infrastructure scales alongside our genomic strategy. You aren't just managing data; you are governing the highly personal information that drives scientific discovery.

  • Technical Execution: You might write a Python script to pull data from a GWAS or integrate metadata from disparate systems into our cloud architecture.

  • Governance & Privacy: You will act as the "gatekeeper," evaluating complex datasets for licensing issues and ensuring privacy standards (TREs) are met before they reach our customers.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You’ll partner with stakeholders to bridge the gap between to ensure seamless ingestion.

Who You Are
  • You have proven experience with global bodies such as UK Biobank, DB GAP, or EGA, and a deep understanding of data modelling and governance.

  • You possess an "investigatory" mindset, able to look at a dataset and identify potential privacy or licensing roadblocks before they become issues.

  • You are highly skilled in Python and understand the nuances of compute architecture and cloud systems.

  • You hold a PhD in a genomic discipline (or equivalent industry experience) and can "speak the language" of Stat Gen and Bioinformatics.
