About This Role 

We are looking for a Lead Data Analyst to drive relevant parts of Analytics delivery, as a crucial support to OutSystems’ decision-making fueled by Data. As such, this means someone who will autonomously drive selected workfronts by executing with technical acumen and data products mindset, but also by effectively collaborating with the business, and by articulating insight in a clear and consistent manner, in a way non-data-savvy people understand.

You will be part of the Data Science and Analytics team, at the heart of the decision-making at OutSystems, with a special focus on our Go-to-Market strategies. Besides partnering with company stakeholders, you will collaborate within a broader Data Area that covers Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data platform management, and Analytics Enablement.

Your main goal is to transform data, reports, and analysis into business value. Besides, you will contribute to the technical and business maturity of the team, driving best practices and improvements as part of the Center of Excellence for Data, and effectively coaching more junior colleagues from the Data team or less data-savvy business partners.


What You Will Lead/Do or Key Responsibilities 

  • Craft compelling and impactful data visualizations, interactive dashboards, data narratives to communicate complex analysis results and insights.

  • Create and maintain BI reporting based on a variety of systems and data, leveraging technology to scale the team’s efforts, increasing efficiency and output using data visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Shiny;

  • Conduct Advanced Data Analysis and modeling, while guaranteeing the quality of data for analyses;

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their real business needs, acting as a Strategic Advisor to the business.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Architecture to design and optimize our data lake, to enable more efficient analyses and Analytics Self-Service solutions

  • Guide and Coach more junior team members, supporting them on their outputs and monitoring the quality of their work.

Qualifications / What You Need To Succeed (Hiring manager provides)

  • 8+ years experience as a Data Analyst;

  • MSc in Mathematics, Computer Science Informatics (or a related field) or equivalent experience;

  • Experience working with at least one visual BI analytical tool (Power BI preferential);

  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL;

  • Knowledge of R or Python programming language for data analysis. Experience with Shiny is a plus;

  • Critical thinking: explore data, identify trends and come to new conclusions based on findings, in a business focused way;

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis on data trends and reporting dashboards;

  • Excellent communication skills: empathy and active listening; good presentation skills with clear speaking, easily communicating complex ideas;

  • Able to collaborate with a cross-functional team.
