The role

As Lead AI and Innovation Analyst, you will play a key role in identifying, shaping and delivering high‑value AI opportunities across Railpen. You will own the AI and Innovation use‑case roadmap, ensuring alignment across front‑office, member‑facing and back‑office functions.

Working at the intersection of business, technology and delivery, you will scan the external AI market to assess tools, vendors and emerging technologies, producing build‑vs‑buy analysis, coordinating proofs of concept and supporting vendor engagement. You will work closely with technical teams to feed priorities into Railpen’s AI Hub and ensure ideas move successfully from concept into production.

Partnering with business stakeholders, solution architects, data teams and external partners, you will ensure AI initiatives are well defined, technically viable, responsibly governed and deliver measurable value aligned to organisational strategy.

The person

We are looking for an experienced, analytical and curious professional with a keen interest in AI and innovation. You will bring a background in business analysis, AI‑enabled change, consulting or technology‑focused roles, ideally within a regulated environment such as financial services or pensions.

You will be comfortable working at both strategic and technical levels, able to translate business needs into clear requirements and explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical audiences. You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, a value‑driven mindset and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments.

Above all, you will be proactive, collaborative and motivated by delivering practical AI solutions that create real, measurable impact for the organisation.

Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
