ALS Wakefield is seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Analyst (Grade 1) to join our dynamic Organics department. No previous lab experience? No problem — full training will be provided. All we ask is that you bring your curiosity, commitment, and a keen eye for detail.
About the Position
Shift: Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:00, with flexi-time available once trained)
Salary: £25,878
Location: Ossett, Wakefield
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term, Full-Time
The day to day
Analysing samples using a range of GC, GCMS, and LCMS techniques
Recording accurate results in line with quality standards and laboratory procedures
Ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation and internal quality systems
Supporting colleagues to meet daily performance targets
Participating in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis (following screening)
Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
The Essentials
A passion for science and a strong willingness to learn
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Science, Maths and English, plus an A-Level (or equivalent) in a Scientific subject
Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic IT competency
A proactive, client-focused attitude
