Company

Exact Sciences Corporation provides cancer screening and diagnostic test products in the United States and internationally. The company the Oncotype DX Breast Recurrence Score® test in International Markets, a gene expression tests for breast cancer. It also provides Cologuard, a non-invasive stool-based DNA screening test to detect colorectal cancer and pre-cancer, currently not available outside of the United States. Research and Development focuses on enhancing Cologuard's performance characteristics and on the top 15 deadliest cancers, including multi-cancer testing.

Exact Sciences Corporation was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin while the International Headquarter is in Zug (Switzerland).

To strengthen our sales organization, we are looking for an exceptional Regional Account Manager / Key Account Manager UK, South West England and South Wales reporting to the UK National Sales Manager.

Position Overview

The Key Account Manager is responsible for maximizing the potential of the Oncotype DX Breast Recurrence Score® test sales in key accounts in South West England and South Wales. Imperative to this role will be developing local account plans that are aligned to the national brand plan and developed reflecting the strategic business plan for South West England and South Wales to achieve above expected sales growth and performance targets. It is essential that he/she can demonstrate the value of Oncotype DX® with HCPs which include but are not limited to; Surgeons, Oncologists, Pathologists and Breast Care Nurses. As part of wider key account management and stakeholder management, he/she will be expected to support the delivery of a coordinated strategic engagement plan alongside the BL with non-clinical customers to demonstrate and help them understand the value-added benefits that Oncotype DX® can deliver to the South West England and South Wales healthcare systems using bespoke materials and customer engagement tools.

This is an autonomous role, has a shared accountability with the Business Lead for the region, so the individual will need to be able to work on their own, prioritize their time whilst achieving strong working relationships internally and proactive communication with relevant colleagues.

In South West England and South Wales , there are high profile hospitals, who have national and international opinion leaders who are strategically important to Exact Sciences. It will be expected that this individual will be able to interact with these customers and manage these relationships.

Exact Sciences in the UK is a small highly effective and efficient team, so it is important that the KAM is comfortable working on their own and being self-sufficient.

Key Accountabilities and Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drive sales in the NHS and Private Market.
  • Develop account plans that are aligned to the national brand plan, which are both strategic and tactical.
  • Share responsibility and accountability for regional performance, with specific accountability for aspects of the regional business.
  • Effective management of regional budget and align spend with account objectives.
  • Engage with clinical and non-clinical customers in both the NHS and Private Market.
  • Develop local and national opinion leaders to be and act as brand advocates for Oncotype DX® and Exact Sciences.
  • Deliver impactful and compelling presentations on Oncotype DX® to NHS customers and attend relevant conferences/events in the UK.
  • Become a product expert on Oncotype DX® and have an excellent comprehension and understanding of how breast cancer is managed in the UK.
  • Adherence to Exact Sciences’ policies and procedures.

Person Profile

You are someone who has excellent an ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) at all levels of the NHS and Exact Sciences, with strong business acumen and ability to think strategically. You are a self-starter and experience of working in smaller organizations or divisions within a larger healthcare company – autonomous, entrepreneurial in your thinking and approach; comfortable working on your own and being self-sufficient and as part of a team. You are someone who has the willingness to travel to national meetings 3-4 times per year. There is also the possibility of attending international congresses both of which will require overnight stays and evening/weekend meetings. You’re looking for a company where you can pursue your aspirations, where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point. Furthermore, you have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Sales experience in a specialist disease area with a strong record of success promoting complex products (ideally in medical oncology and/or diagnostics in breast cancer) in the region.
  • Evidence of pathway and guideline development to demonstrate industry and NHS joint working to improve efficiencies and patient care.
  • Ability to assimilate and communicate clinical data (or quickly learn) in the oncology arena.
  • Experience of working with multiple NHS stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Excellent understanding of cancer care in the UK public and private healthcare sectors.
  • Proven large territory and key account management skills.
  • Life science degree desirable.
  • Clean UK Driver’s license.
