Key Account Manager – Oncology (Southwest England and South Wales)

Field‑based | Ipsen UK

Join a mission‑driven biopharmaceutical company improving the lives of cancer patients.

Ipsen is seeking a high‑calibre Key Account Manager (KAM) to drive the commercial excellence of our Oncology portfolio across the South West of England and South Wales. This is a pivotal customer‑facing role where you will build impactful clinical relationships, shape account strategy, and deliver meaningful patient outcomes.

About the role

As a Key Account Manager, you will develop and execute territory and key account plans that maximise access, growth and utilisation of Ipsen’s oncology products. You will be the face of Ipsen within oncology and urology centres, specialist hospitals, medical groups, and academic institutions—ensuring customers have the right information to support optimal patient care.

What you will be doingKey Account Management
  • Develop and deliver robust territory and account plans aligned to Ipsen’s national strategy.
  • Ensure hospital‑level plans reflect decision‑making structures and account drivers.
  • Manage territory resources and budget responsibly and effectively.
  • Understand the UK NHS environment, including policies, funding flows and processes relevant to specialist medicines.
Customer Engagement & Education
  • Build strong, long‑term relationships with oncologists, urologists, KOLs, specialist nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide in‑field clinical training, education and support for HCPs and internal/external colleagues.
  • Communicate complex clinical data clearly, confidently and compliantly.
  • Demonstrate exceptional selling skills to secure formulary inclusion, referrals, and appropriate product growth.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
  • Maintain open communication with Medical, Marketing, Market Access and MSL teams.
  • Share insights on urgent account developments to support strategy delivery.
  • Contribute actively to national sales meetings and team initiatives.
Ethics & Compliance
  • Ensure all activities comply with ABPI Code of Practice, Ipsen standards, and national regulations.
What we’re looking forExperience & Competencies
  • Strong track record in specialist or hospital sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Proven experience as a Key Account Manager in Oncology (essential), or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in account management with complex customers.
  • Ability to build credible, trusted relationships with key clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in the Southwest of England & South Wales region (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • High clinical aptitude with the ability to understand and convey complex data.
  • Ability to navigate challenges with resilience and an entrepreneurial approach.
Education & Qualifications
  • Degree in business, science, nursing or similar.
  • Oncology and/or Urology therapy area experience strongly preferred.
  • ABPI qualified.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must live and work within the defined geography.
  • Fluency in English.
