Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?
Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It Matter.
Join us in our mission to change the way the world snacks. Make It Matter.
Anchored at the heart of the France Business Unit, this role is designed for an experienced legal professional, capable of delivering best-in-class strategic legal advice across all commercial channels (Retail, Out-of-Home, Export), as well as to the marketing, procurement and manufacturing teams, and to the corporate governance of Mondelez's French legal entities. You will work in close collaboration with the central legal team to support legal compliance and the commercial growth ambitions of Mondelez France, and will play an active role in the managerial life of the France Business Unit. You demonstrate proven proficiency in digital tools and AI in a legal environment, to drive the agenda of digitalization of the Legal team.
How you will contribute
In close partnership with the commercial, marketing, procurement and manufacturing teams, you will identify and advise on applicable legislative developments and help build a strong legal and compliance culture within the France Business Unit.
Legal partner for commercial channels & marketing
  • You act as the legal partner to the Commercial Committee, covering all distribution channels - Retail, Out-of-Home and Export. In this capacity, together with the rest of the legal team, you secure commercial negotiations with food retail distributors, particularly within the framework of the EGALIM legislation (restrictive trade practices) and competition law. As such, you participate in the Extended Commercial Committee.
  • You may be called upon to guide teams in the development of advertising campaigns or new products, as well as to manage any associated risks in litigation or pre-litigation proceedings with government authorities (DDPP) or competitors, or crisis management in the event of product incidents.

Legal coordination of procurement and manufacturing
  • You negotiate contracts (industrial procurement, indirect procurement and subcontracting agreements, logistics) with suppliers and service providers in partnership with the procurement teams.
  • You lead the development and deployment of standardised contract templates for France and streamline working methods between the legal team and procurement.
  • You manage disputes arising from industrial/plant operations, overseeing cases in liaison with external counsel, defining the most appropriate resolution strategies, and advising plant management and procurement teams in pre-litigation situations to prevent disputes and preserve operational continuity.

Corporate governance & compliance agenda management
  • You support the Chief Legal Counsel in her corporate governance duties, jointly ensuring with the legal assistant the corporate secretarial work for Mondelez International's French entities: legal formalities, monitoring of governance bodies and statutory documentation, as well as local ESG governance oversight from a corporate perspective.
  • You assist the Chief Legal Counsel in steering the compliance agenda of the France Business Unit, which covers key regulatory areas: competition law (anti-competitive practices, cartels, abuse of dominant position), the Sapin II Act (anti-corruption and the associated compliance programme), personal data protection (GDPR) and sector-specific regulatory obligations applicable to the food industry. Your mission is to disseminate and embed a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation, making compliance a natural reflex rather than a constraint.

Driving digital transformation & simplification of the legal department
  • You play a leading role in the digital transformation of the France legal function and in the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence tools.
  • You identify opportunities to streamline legal processes through technology - automation, contract management, legal analytics, generative AI.
  • You actively contribute to designing simplification tools for operational teams: training sessions, document templates, practical guides, etc.

What you will bring
Joining Mondelez International in this role means bringing recognised legal expertise, a proven ability to work in an international matrix environment, and strong alignment with the company's values: rigour & compliance, pragmatism, innovation and team spirit.
Education and academic background
  • Master's degree (Master II) in business law, economic law, distribution law or competition law (leading French university)
  • Dual degree in law / business school and/or French Bar qualification (CAPA) : an additional asset

Professional experience
  • 10+ years as an in-house counsel in the FMCG sector (food / consumer goods), ideally within an international group of comparable scale
  • Track record demonstrating the ability to handle a wide range of complex legal issues in a demanding operational environment

Technical legal expertise
  • In-depth command of French economic law: distribution, competition, consumer law
  • Solid knowledge of the EGALIM legislation and restrictive trade practices in food retail, as well as anti-competitive practices
  • Compliance culture: Sapin II Act, competition law, GDPR, food industry regulatory obligations
  • Corporate law & governance
  • Experienced negotiator both upstream (procurement, suppliers) and downstream (retail customers/distributors)
  • Proficiency in commercial and industrial dispute resolution methods

Cross-functional skills and personal qualities
  • Team player, effective in a fast-paced environment undergoing constant transformation
  • Ability to simplify complex topics and deliver pragmatic solutions
  • Rigorous prioritisation, sound decision-making under pressure
  • Intellectual curiosity, openness to new digital and technological practices
  • Leadership, entrepreneurial mindset, sense of accountability and willingness to challenge the status quo

Languages and digital proficiency
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken, including complex legal drafting)
  • Proven proficiency in digital tools and AI in a legal environment
  • Passion for legal tech and technological innovation: an essential prerequisite
