About the Team

Hi, I’m Howard Gadsby, UX Lead at Hawk-Eye Innovations.

We’re looking for a Junior UX Designer to join our growing user-centred design team. You’ll be working on products used across live sport, from officiating tools to broadcast and replay systems, helping to shape experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and used in real-time environments.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their UX career who wants to build strong foundations, learn from experienced designers and engineers, and contribute to products used at the highest level of sport.

About Hawk-Eye

Hawk-Eye Innovations develops, markets, and delivers some of the most advanced technology in sport. As part of the Sony Sports group, we play a key role in officiating and broadcasting across more than 25 sports globally.

Our products span ball and player tracking, SMART (Synchronised Multi-Angle Replay Technology), and SMART Production tools. Each year, we support over 30,000 events across 500+ stadiums in more than 90 countries.

Alongside this, we provide data, analytics, and insights to teams and federations, and continue to invest in building high-quality, user-focused products for people working at the heart of live sport.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to create intuitive, user-focused experiences across our suite of tools.

Your day-to-day might include:

  • Mapping user journeys and identifying pain points

  • Creating wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs

  • Supporting usability testing and gathering feedback

  • Collaborating with engineers to bring designs into production

  • Presenting design ideas and iterating based on feedback

  • Contributing to our design system and component library

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A degree in UX, Interaction Design, HCI, or similar

  • Around 1–2 years’ experience in a UX, Product, or Interaction Design role (or strong graduate portfolio)

  • A portfolio that demonstrates user-centred thinking and problem solving

  • Understanding of usability principles and testing approaches

  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly to different audiences

  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

Nice to Have:

  • Experience designing for web or desktop applications

  • Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Axure, or Adobe Creative Suite

  • Awareness of front-end technologies

  • Interest in sport, broadcasting, or live production environments

  • Additional language skills

We offer a range of benefits to support your development and wellbeing:
