Hi, I’m Howard Gadsby, UX Lead at Hawk-Eye Innovations.
We’re looking for a Junior UX Designer to join our growing user-centred design team. You’ll be working on products used across live sport, from officiating tools to broadcast and replay systems, helping to shape experiences that are intuitive, reliable, and used in real-time environments.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their UX career who wants to build strong foundations, learn from experienced designers and engineers, and contribute to products used at the highest level of sport.
About Hawk-EyeHawk-Eye Innovations develops, markets, and delivers some of the most advanced technology in sport. As part of the Sony Sports group, we play a key role in officiating and broadcasting across more than 25 sports globally.
Our products span ball and player tracking, SMART (Synchronised Multi-Angle Replay Technology), and SMART Production tools. Each year, we support over 30,000 events across 500+ stadiums in more than 90 countries.
Alongside this, we provide data, analytics, and insights to teams and federations, and continue to invest in building high-quality, user-focused products for people working at the heart of live sport.
What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to create intuitive, user-focused experiences across our suite of tools.
Your day-to-day might include:
Mapping user journeys and identifying pain points
Creating wireframes, prototypes, and UI designs
Supporting usability testing and gathering feedback
Collaborating with engineers to bring designs into production
Presenting design ideas and iterating based on feedback
Contributing to our design system and component library
Essential:
A degree in UX, Interaction Design, HCI, or similar
Around 1–2 years’ experience in a UX, Product, or Interaction Design role (or strong graduate portfolio)
A portfolio that demonstrates user-centred thinking and problem solving
Understanding of usability principles and testing approaches
Ability to communicate ideas clearly to different audiences
Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Nice to Have:
Experience designing for web or desktop applications
Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Axure, or Adobe Creative Suite
Awareness of front-end technologies
Interest in sport, broadcasting, or live production environments
Additional language skills
