The Design team is part of the Avigilon Alta department, which represents a unique group of products within Motorola Solutions. Avigilon Alta is a complete cloud-based security solution that future-proofs your video security and access control with innovative capabilities and intelligent analytics.

The Avigilon Alta department consistently works on state-of-the-art solutions to meet the needs of our customers across various verticals. We develop both hardware and software products as part of our complete cloud-based security solution.
Job Description

We are looking for a Junior UX designer who has at least 1+ years experience who would like to join our design team in  London, UK. You will be joining an awesome design team that is currently 5 people strong. It includes 2 UX designers, 1 UX researcher, 2 Visual designers with one head of design. You will get the opportunity to work alongside some highly experienced industry professionals in a small but fast growing team, working closely with VD designers and engineers to follow up on the complete design process. You will be given the opportunity to become responsible for designing and developing a key part of the product from day one. As a junior designer, you will immediately contribute to the product and have access to peers that will contribute to your learning.
It is important that you are familiar with a wide range of design tools and techniques, and that you know the basics in wireframing, interactive prototypes. Even though you’re not expected to be a graphic designer, it is an advantage if you have a solid understanding of layout, compositions, colors, and typography to be able to deliver designs of quality that tell stories clearly.

You will be able to contribute to informational structure to convey complex information in an easily understandable and user-friendly way. It’s also an advantage if you have some experience with Figma Make, Adobe suite and such to create interactive prototypes, educational videos and more. Know how to use AI tools available to most designers today. However, what’s most important is that you’re passionate about creating great user experiences on screen.

Portfolio and Experience:

  • A portfolio showcasing relevant UX work (both individual and collaborative), demonstrating skills and experience through case studies.

  • Preferably junior with some experience, but open to people who are starting off in their career, but need to be able to show a portfolio.


    Basic Requirements

    Desirable experience and skills
    • Preferably a degree in interaction design, UX design, or other equivalent subjects..

    • Some experience with designing for Web, iOS and Android interfaces.

    • Wireframing and prototype skills. (Figma, Sketch, Invision, Illustration, etc)

    • Some experience with partnering with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, UX researchers, and marketers.

    • Some experience in translating problems into UX solutions.

    • The ability to present to and influence non-design stakeholders (CEOs, Engineering Leads, Marketing).
