Department OverviewThis role sits within the Airwave UK Managed Services finance team and is responsible for a wide variety of accounting, finance and transactional processes within Airwave UK, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions Inc.
Job Description
This role is primarily remote working with occasional visits to our London office.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Maintain oversight of Airwave AR and AP teams in the UK and Poland, ensuring timely transaction processing, performing vendor/payment approvals and forecasting cash flow.
- Working with finance colleagues to ensure robust adherence to the Competition and Markets Authority’s charge control order, ensuring Airwave billing and revenue recognition is appropriate.
- Contribute to Airwave-related activities of the Motorola Poland FOC team, including intercompany transactions, fixed assets and depreciation, treasury, direct and indirect taxes, payroll, employee expenses and insurance.
- Perform and own Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls on monthly basis including approval of balance sheet reconciliations and managing balance sheet reviews.
- Ensure system integrity and GL allocation within SAP in association with Motorola Poland FOC team.
- Involvement in UK statutory audit processes, liaison with external auditors on critical audit issues
- and areas of judgment, and reviewing statutory accounts.
- Managing other UK compliance areas including prompt payment reporting, SME reporting, Ofcom submissions, adherence to LRQA ISO standards and ONS reporting.
- Contribute to implementation of new ‘Opportunity to Invoice’ sales system, including design and operation of associated finance business processes.
- Support the operation and development of the Airwave finance team, promoting best practice at all times and ensuring robust adherence to controls.
Basic Requirements
Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA /ACA) with at least 2 years PQE.
Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders and working in a matrix organisation.
UK resident with the expectation of achieving national security clearance to SC level, to obtain you must be a UK resident of 5 years minimum.
Experience of a broad range of accounting and finance functions in a large corporate environment, including use of shared services finance teams, and group reporting requirements.
Knowledge of the benefits of incorporating automation and AI into finance processes and the ability to identify and implement such opportunities.
Excellent communication and social skills to develop effective internal and external relationships with Airwave colleagues, Motorola contacts and external stakeholders.
The ability to work independently, self-motivate, organise yourself and prioritise your workload Understanding of SOX environments and the ability to demonstrate the importance of controls, processes and best practice.
Good systems skills, including Microsoft and Google software products.
Ambition to learn and develop in a supportive yet challenging environment, showing potential to take on increased responsibilities within Airwave, and develop into wider roles within Motorola.
